They look very good Tony. The colouring, including hair and faces looks first class and the shields excellent. I look to seeing more photos as you progress this project.

Thanks. I normally don't take pictures as I go, but I think I'm going to have to break with tradition so that I can stay motivated.
It's like running a marathon 1/16 mile at a time.

I finished the latest additions to the Consular army, 10 elements for the Allied Legion and 3 mounted for the Seleucid.
For the upcoming campaign, the Romans will field an army of 20,000 or 40 elements. Following Livy’s strengths for the Roman consular forces, the allied wings were proportionally larger and are so reflected in the collection.
Next week I will place an order for more Roman generals and lictors; these are available from Capitan Games UK. (The lictors will be added for those rate moments of glory).
The Seleucid now have 3 x 3Kn to serve as commanders for conflicts before 200 BC. Antiochus III, after his eastern experience, raised units of cataphract (4Kn) to replace the Xystophoroi (3Kn) in time for Magnesia.
As the Xystophoroi figures are very generic and can be used for a variety of armies I shall be ordering more of these to add to my Arabo-Aramean to use them for earlier conflicts.
Having finally finished my Lombards, I've made a start on 4 x 7Hd Great Fyrd for my Anglo-Danes and Middle Anglo-Saxons (and they'll do for SRB horde too, I think). Majority are Gladiator Games/Black Hat. M
Having just finished rebasing late Mercians and Welsh I am just going to take brush to a Boer wagon laager. The figures are Gallia - very, very big heads!
Just placed grass tufts to finish two 4Ax Spanish for exclusive use with the Carthaginian army; these are resplendent in "dazzling white tunics with purple borders".
These replace the two transient Spanish that have now returned to their proper box.
With no more unpainted lead on the table I will return to the 12 element test games, for which I have the following on the agenda:
I am waiting the arrival of some 25mm ECW figures to repaint and touch up and I am re-painting some of my 2mm ECW collection to represent the New Model Army.
Are your 2mm from irregular? I'm tempted to use PicoArmor ACW 3mm for a project.
Yes my English Civil War figures are from Irregular.
I am now thinking of getting Irregular miniatures ACW figures.
"I would rather have a russet coated Captain who knows what he fights for and loves what he knows. Than he who calls himself a gentleman, and is but little else." Oliver Cromwell
Finished four elements of Nobades camel troops which completes this army.
It will be interesting to see how they fare against Middle Imperial Rome.
As we like to say on another message board I belong to: "Pics or it didn't happen."
Ha, Ha.
Well it did happen.
I have just added six elements of Frankish/Ottonian knights to the collection of Dark Age armies. While waiting for the Graeco-Bactrian order to arrive I stumbled on two packs of OG cavalry and decided to paint these for practice as the Graeco-Bactrian are all cavalry.
Tomorrow I plan several games so I will take pictures between battles.
