Some old Essex medium Libyan spearmen refurbished with some new ones mixed in to bring them up to strength for a possible BBDBA Later Carthaginian army.

A mixture of hand painted ( some a little ordinary) and LBMS Xyston Greek transfers for the shields.

Finished touching up and repairing my ECW personality figures. Attachment DeletedI have some 20mm Prussians undercoated and waiting to be finished for DBN. I find summer time I get less painting done as so much to do outside with the garden and allotment!

My Gallic command is now complete with the addition of LCh.
The annoying part is I have 6 x LCh painted by need only 3 leaving me with no option but to order cavalry and warband to build a second command. This never seems to end.

Today I completed 7 elements that will allow me to morph my II/38a Hsuing nu into either II/38b Southern Hsuing nu or II/38c Juan-Juan.
The idea is to combine my Hun army II/80d and with this army plus surplus elements which together can provide 2 armies to fight each other or timeline appropriate Chinese armies from Early Hu I/43b to the Juan-Juan from 400 B.C. to 555 A.D.

A small order of Spanish and Roman Allied cavalry arrived a few days ago.
Six elements of Cretan archers and six Balearic slingers are now done. Tomorrow I start the Lusitanian.

Stage 2 of my Hsuing nu morph got well underway today with 6 elements of Early Hu foot started.I'm using Scythians so dont want them to look as flamboyant, so using browns and greys with dull hughes of red and blue I plan to pretty them up by using coloured lining to their clothing and decor on their quivers and shields.

At the moment i am painting/touching up some old plastic 20mm Napoleonic figures. I don't think I fixed the paint well enough when they were originally done many years ago

I had time yesterday to start painting the Lusitanian. Now halfway through, these will be finished later today. All figures have been varnished.
This adds 10 elements of Lusitanian, 6 Balearic slingers, 6 Cretan archers and 5 Roman Allied cavalry, command plus camp follower to the collection. Tomorrow I can apply the sand and white glue mix for the bases and by the weekend I should have photos posted.
A new order was placed this morning on TimeCast for more Punic War figures. And so the project moves on.

Trying to finish off my Italian Lombard army. Has been painting desk bound for far too long. Managed to do helmets and magic wash yesterday before launching off on a work trip, so should be dried off by the time I'm back, in time to finish fancy shields and spikey spearpoints. Very flexible Essex Dark Ages figures, with brass rod spear/lance replacements. Horses are beautifully moulded (plenty of them, with ? 9 x 3Kn). M

I have six elements of Gallic warband and three of cavalry are nearly done; these lack only shield patterns. These have been placed on the side awaiting inspiration.
Painting has begun for the next group, an equal number of Carthaginian spear and cavalry. Completing these will add two more armies to the list of Rome's enemies.
These will be done in time for our big battle game set somewhere in Hispania anno 217 BC.
