Very nice! Did you bend the camels heads to provide variety of poses? Yes, got the idea from a blog I came across and think it works well! P

Nice work on the camels Paul.
Just finished painting and glued to bases 4 PS elements. 3 of OG15 VS-03 Gothic archers and one of Essex MID-108 later Spanish slingers.

Currently painting: > also on the painting tray > the last couple of units for a HOTT WWI 10mm army...... Hi Mark Is that for Hott ‘proper’ or Hitt (Hordes in the Trenches) variant ? Has been an idea I’d like to try out. Which army/armies, and what composition? Which make? Martin ps - have done 8 of the ECW cav you sold me at Hammerhead...love ‘em!

Beautifully done, Paul. What miniatures and what scale? Fantastic job texturizing & flocking the bases. Bending some of the camels' head down was a nice touch. Oh, and the saddle-cloths are terriff too. Very handy should the riders want to set out a picnic or play checkers between games of DBA. (Winks & grins.) Again, really well done.

Finished Forged in Battle's War & Empire Ancients Saxon peasant foot. I continue to find that FIB's miniatures paint up swiftly & I like their animation. Unfortunately I'm not getting any younger and my eyes are going (cataracts and retina issues) so I'm really having a tough time with their Goth/Vandal Noble Heavy Cavalry. (I hate painting horses) I have a small magnifying lamp from the knitting store (thanks to my wife)which is a great help. For those of you using acrylics, I can strongly recommend "Sta-Wet Palette" --a small, cheap item that will keep your paint wet between breaks. Stay safe mates! Cheers, A

Has been an idea I’d like to try out. Which army/armies, and what composition? Which make? Martin ps - have done 8 of the ECW cav you sold me at Hammerhead...love ‘em! Hi Martin It's for HOTT proper as I haven't come across HITT and at present only have the British army. Figures are Pendraken 10mm. I went for these as you can just about fit the tanks on the true base sizes, although the MkIV does 'hang' over the back edge somewhat. I know Simon likes the Kallistra 12mm figures and I think the advantage Kallistra have is that there is more variation in their poses per pack than Pendraken. Thinking about it afterwards I suppose I could have used the Pendraken tanks and Kallistra inf if I wanted, as I'm not sure the difference in scale would be that noticeable between the tanks and the inf? The main problem with the infantry is that if you just want a few, for a standard HOTT army with a few options, the pack sizes are too big, so you end up with a load of spares. Consequently I plan to sell some off on e-bay as a second HOTT army. My army composition and suggested usage at present includes: MkIV tanks - Behemoths Whippet tanks - Knights (or you could have one as a Hero, see the story of Cecil Harold Sewell at tankmuseum.org for justification of that) Cavalry - riders Machine guns - shooters Artillery - artillery Inf Bombers - Warband Charging inf - Blades or spears Walking inf - Horde Balloon - Airboat (I bought these on E-Bay, they are about 6cm long and were originally a Snoopy key ring!) General staff looking at a table top map. I've based them on 40 x 40mm base so either a Magician or Beast, depending on your view of the higher command in WWI I suppose. I also have some 6mm aircraft from Irregular Miniatures (the photos on their website do not do justice to the models, particularly the SE5a) that I can use as Flyers. (I've bought a Fokker Triplane which I plan to paint red and use as an aerial hero if I get around to doing the Germans!) (Perhaps I should have left one balloon as a Snoopy one after all!!) I've tried uploading a photo but keep getting messages saying it's too big, or the forum has exceeded it's space limit! Glad you like the Cav.

On the weekend I only managed a brief painting session - Wf(X) drafted me into some form of gardening on Saturday so by the time it was done, the natural light was no longer seeping into the spot in the garage where my painting table sits.
I did get 1xSp and 1x7Hd done for the East Frankish, which finished the last batch of strips I was painting. I now have 6 strips that have only just started with a do over of the Flesh, Wood and Metal - now to start filling in the detail
Cheers

Hoped to get more finished this weekend myself. Had to rebuild a shower valve assembly instead. Still managed a little project progress though. Putting finishing touches on Edward IVs personal command stand, a base of curriors, and welsh pike. Hoping to have my Yorkists complete by the end of the week.

More nice work, paul.
Over the last couple of days I got some OG15 NO04b Unarmored crossbowmen painted and glued to bases to give my Feudal Spanish an element of 4CB and of 3CB. The archer figures from the Norman line are the same as for the El Cid line.
Also a LH element for them using Essex MID84 Ginetes.
Then 8 elements of LH for my Rshtuni Armenians - 6 of ZC-42 Minifigs and 2 of Essex PA4s.
And last but not least, a WB element of OG15 VS02 Spearmen for the Goth pool..

Finished the third of a "matched quartet" of Book I Late Bronze Age armies over the weekend: I/20b Syro-Canaanites. Wow! The checkerboard patterns on the chariots and repeated on the shields are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Very nicely done.
