Not sure what this means:
"Only 1 feature can have a length (maximum dimension) of less than 3BW"
Does the "maximum dimension" refer to just the length, or the length plus width?
Coupled with this there is the set ratio of length to width in the text (length must not exceed twice the width) & in figure 1b ("all other terrain features [than Gullies] must exceed a length to width ratio of 2:1 which would rule out circular or near circular features) It's my understanding that the rules take precedence over the diagrams where they seem to contradict - is this the case here?
If I am reading this right, the above means the minimum dimensions of all (but one) non-gully area terrain would be 3 x 4.51BW. Is this correct?
I ask this because I have read somewhere that some people are using 3 x 4 & 2 x 3BW in order to ensure not having to discard features due to proximity & this would seem to be precluded by the above.
Regards,
j

It means just the length so you can have one piece 1.5 BW x 1BW for example. You could have the minimum of 1 x 1 BW. No dimension can ever be less than one BW.
There is a misprint in the diagram about this. It should read as per the written rules that length cannot be greater than twice the width - so you can have circular terrain - assuming not a gully.
I hope this is clear.

Regards, j Your understanding is wrong. The diagrams are part of the rules. Neither takes precedence over the other.
