Can an element in an enemy TZ fall directly back & make contact with another enemy (which is in frontal Close Combat itself) with its REAR edge so that if the other enemy loses its Combat it must be Destroyed? My head hurts.

No, it may not - this is the essence of the first paragraph of 'moving in to contact with the enemy' rule. It is, in effect, an illegal contact. You can stop a mm short, but can't actually contact, so the second enemy would have a small recoil and is then in trouble.
And the head pain will go away, I promise...
