Just picked up the rules as I want to upgrade from 2.2 Apologies if this has already been answered, but I am looking at the 3.0 lists for II/5 & am wondering where the Athenian Peltasts as Ax have gone - or am I reading the list wrong? All the Peltasts listed are Ps, none as Ax, whether 3 or 4 (also the archers can be either Ps or 2Bw) Is this right?
Regards,
j

This is correct. A reassessment of the lists by Phil rendered few Ax and more Ps in the Greek armies. You will still see quite a few Ax in the Hellenic Greek armies as Thureophoroi, or as Thracians and such...

Thanks, that's what it looked like to me but I have been known to get things wrong Regards, j Been thinking about this more since the weekend where I saw my first allies elements added to an army. Perhaps the thracian peltasts would be represented as 3Ax allies from the Thracian list? So you wouldn’t be able to group move them but you could still have them in your army. I too miss the 4Ax in the old lists (and I don’t know what to do with the extras in the Xyston DBA pack..
