Yeah, they look to be very impressive. But, they all show as "sold out". What's with that, I wonder. Maybe, they're just not yet available for purchase?

I just got the following reply from Lurkio.
They are loaded but not released yet.
We have just received the infantry stock yesterday.
Cavalry stock imminent.
So should be the release promotion late next week.
So, as we perhaps had surmised, they weren't quite ready yet. But very soon will be. Yay.

Curious what other more knowledgeable folks think about all the armored cavalry in the Lurkio range. In the 3.0 commentary it says "horse armor is occasionally mentioned but was probably not common". Where would the Lurkio Cataphracts and Guard Cavalry fit?

I thought Lurkio were closed for business?

The Wargame Zone is handling Lurkio figures now. In addition to teasing some new ranges they have a "Pack Breaker" option that is perfect for DBA gamers. Single figures available if the 12 pack doesn't work. You can search on Lurkio and the site comes up as "presented by" the Wargame Zone.

Ihaven't got any Lurkio figures but they look really good! It was a shame that they stopped making them but I'm glad someone has taken them on now.

Where would the Lurkio Cataphracts and Guard Cavalry fit? Was planning on throwing my 2 cents in, edonaldson, on this when you made the post and got distracted. Presuming you haven't already dug deeper, here they are - For my BBDBA II/63 Three Kingdom Chinese I took some half armored horses that I had and used those to create the command elements. Would probably use the guard cavalry for that if I were using the Lurkio figures. Now the II/79 Wei per the army list do have 3 and 4KN with barded horses, so no problem there.

Thank you Goragrad. I noticed my "Senior Moment" shortly after I posted the question. I will likely place an order for a Wei army soon.

Just placed my order for a II/63 3KC army. I opted not to go with any fully-armored horses, just the half-armored, Line Cavalry. That will maximize the contrast to my friend, Eric's, klanker-heavy, II/79a CND. Then, I needed to choose one of the Three Kingdoms, right? I think the "Wu" is kinda catchy, no? (Grins.)

Shu Han has all of the 'good' guys from the novel though...

Shu Han has all of the 'good' guys from the novel though... Interesting... I should probably find and read Romance of the Three Kingdoms as I build the army. Any faint clues, "goragrad", in the novel (or elsewhere) as to which of the Three Kingdoms trotted around War Wagons? --I gotta go with the WWg option.
