I have recently got hold of a copy of A Wargamer's Guide to the Anglo-Scottish Wars 1297 - 1346 which has DBA orbats for several battles. The number of bases varies between battles and is never equal between the opposing armies. What victory conditions do people normally adopt in these situations?

Typically I would use the standard 1/3 elements lost. However, some scenarios have specific victory conditions such as capture of a specific terrain piece or some important person. Are these battles based on 12 elements with some modifications, or are they giant games with multiples of 12 element armies? Is this a new edition of the old -- early 1990's -- Terry Gore book or the original. Maybe you could give us an example of the orbat for one battle.

It was published in 1993. Written by Terry L. Gore. Rare as hen's teeth too, it seems. Davek, you should sell copies of that. I would sure buy one.

Sorry for not replying earlier - I have been laid low by the traditional Christmas cold!
It is an original published in 1993, picked up from a second hand bookseller online.
There are short descriptions of each of the battles (from Stirling Bridge to Neville's Cross), a map and orbats for WRG 6th, DBA and DBM
My original question was based on a misreading of the lists - they have all been forced into 12 element armies after all.

We fight historical battles all the time with uneven armies. We consider a "battle" broken when it does not have more elements on table than Destroyed. Broken battles can fight on but have penalties.
