er.... finally, i don't know what to think, "And please note that it is possible to move a group sideways...see page 8, paragraph 10, last sentence once more: “No other changes in frontage, direction or facing can be made, even if within a TZ, except to pivot, wheel and/or slide sideways to line-up in an enemy TZ, or to conform in close combat.” a group cannot group forward with diagonal move (ok, could be too complex to do with a group of several units) but can move sideways? i was thinking that a group must move forward? and moving sideways is a direction change no? argh..

Ah, you are missing the important words “...except to line-up in a Threat Zone.” Soooo:- And please note that it is possible to move a group sideways...see page 8, paragraph 10, last sentence:- “No other changes in frontage, direction or facing can be made, even if within a TZ, EXCEPT to pivot, wheel and/or slide sideways to line-up in an enemy TZ, or to conform in close combat.” In other words, the ONLY time a group can move sideways for a single PIP, moving as a group, is when they line-up in an enemy TZ...or when they conform in close combat. (See figure 11 on page 21 for what 'lining-up' means) Some potentially useful player aids can be found here, such as the “Quick Reference Sheets” from the Society of Ancients, and the new “Army List Corrections” file: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And this is the latest January 2018 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2018

As always with Phil little is said but much is implied.
A group may make multiple wheels. It may only move sideways to line up in a TZ. All moves are counted against the group's MA (which is the MA of the slowest element). You have to add up each sub-move (it can be tedious). To try and maintain sanity (mine & my opponents), I tend to do everything in 1BW increments (or at least round off).
