Has anyone used this element type? What are it's strengths,it's failing or your experience using them or playing against them?

Pros: good against any foot troops, but especially against bows and artillery and they can be made to look very pretty on their base. Cons: harder to maneuver and the first one lost really hurts! Conclusion: reasonably well balanced.

My regular opponent and I use 6Cv in our Later Samurai armies, which we use in historical matched pairs games, rather than open events. Unlike some armies the Japanese 6Cv represents cavalry supported by dismounted infantry. In my view they look great and is the main reason I use the. However, they tend to be less effective than I would like as often they are on the flanks where they aren’t fighting foot. I tend to not have the general as a 6Cv due to its loss being significant, preferring a command post. My opponent however always has as a 6Cv general. Here is a photo of one of the times I have used a 6Cv general and where I am trying to keep him in the centre of the battlefield so he can be used against enemy foot at some point. If I can get him into combat against enemy foot he will have a factor 5 and importantly not pursue.

Great photo twrnz. I love 6Cv. I use them in my Mu-Jung Xien-bei army. They need a little looking after, can be difficult when deployment is restricted, but they are fast and effective vs. foot.

Thinking about Mustrum’s observations.
A 6Cv would be at 4 v 4 on a normal straight combat and quick kills BW or Art if wins. That only happens vice versa on a 6-1 die roll. If my off the top of my head maths is correct those odds look favourable.
