Dear Forum People,
is there any difference between Enclosures, Scrub, and Boggy in terms of game mechanics? They are all Rough Going and do not hinder shooting.
Are they the same, just different looks?
All the other terrain features are - in some ways - unique.

Nope...no difference at all. They are all just Rough Going. Even their shape, sizes, and placement are the same as any other Rough Going area terrain (see rule 6.6). (Mind you, if my opponent wanted to have Enclosures with straight edges instead of curved, I wouldn’t complain...no matter what the rules say)Some potentially useful player aids can be found here, such as the “Quick Reference Sheets” from the Society of Ancients, and the new “Army List Corrections” file: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And this is the latest January 2018 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2018

The Terrain rules are filled with different names but with little to no effect on game play.
Just a bit of player torture....

I think these are all terrain types in DBMM, no? That said, you can get away with just "rough" generically. All you need is Rocky, and Scrubby, and do we even need Rice Paddies (Enclosures) for tropical? As far as I can tell, these would cover the entire "visual" aesthetics of all the possible theatres we fight in, if I am not mistaken.

According to my notes, Enclosures, Scrub, and Boggy is the only case where different names are used for the same thing. Everything else differs in at least some way.

You are right, Rocky too. In my list, I had Rocky as blocking shooting - no idea where that came from.
So it is Enclodures, Scrub, Boggy, and Rocky. They are all Rough Going and nothing else per the rules.
All other terrain types have something that makes them different.

But not much and they could have been grouped in some logical way (I tried to get Phil to do this but he was just too exhausted by the time fine tuning of terrain came up).
Having four different names for the same type of terrain isn't good (and already we have confusion over "Rocky"). And we are "experts" on the rules. Think of the poor casual player trying to sort out why the same terrain effects has different names.
