And they do a passable representation of the rocket launcher, which is more than the Grumpy's or Old Glory ranges do.

Looks like they have done a good job in spotting a gap in the market. Almost the entire range is currently sold out!

Even though Old Glory has already made this period for a while, these do look good.
I wish that Essex would change the alloy they use for their castings as I find Essex very bendy on their spears.

Personally, I would have liked to see Essex bring out a Three Kingdoms Korean line - with Falcon apparently out of the game that is a major gap.
On the other hand this does give more options for an opponent for the Later Samurai.
Good looking figures (as to be expected from Essex).

Khurasan is a bit on the large side for my taste - at least the 4 T'ang spearmen that I have dwarf their Essex or Minifig counterparts. I have a feeling that a 4KN could be difficult to base.
I have some old Mike's (based on Greer) and not quite a 3.0 army of Falcon (and I really like the Falcon). So would have liked to continue with at least the Falcon.
Naismith has a couple of codes and I may end up going there for some of the figures.

Thing is, that soft Essex alloy is what allows us to modify the figures easily. Bendy spears are easily fixed via wire, etc.
Example, converted from the standard Essex "Thematic Byzantine" lancer. Changes include dropped shoulder (impossible unless soft metal, as it was compressed after being dropped, and the mail re-detailed), differently bent arm, reworked helmet, and wire lance of desired length, among other things, Still need to fill in the seam under dropped shoulder and clean up the horse. Note the original figure in the lower right corner of the first image.

Thanks timurilank. Subsequent to your post I removed one of the images from this thread, as I only needed one to illustrate my point. However, I put both images in a new post in the "scratchbuilding" section.
