Hello,
This may be a hold over of my days playing HOTT...
In DBA 3.0 is there a benefit for being in woods and being the target of a shooting attack?
I keep skimming the rules and I do not see anything.
Thanks

Major benefit if there is more than half a BW of wood between you and the shooter. More than ½ BW of woods (or difficult hills, oasis, dunes, hamlet or edifice) blocks shooting.

But otherwise, if my Bowmen want to shoot out from the woods, they must be no more than 1/2BW from the edge & so do not receive any benefit from cover? Just checkin'
Regards,
j

The bow element 1/2 BW into the woods would still be in bad going, and since they are bow, do not get a close combat penalty for being in bad going, so certain elements (like spear), want to get into close combat with the bow, would suffer a -2 CF.
If the bow wanted full cover from the woods, say from being shot at, would then have to move more than 1/2 BW into the woods, but then they could not shoot either.
I hope this answers your question, but if not, somebody will correct me
