I played with a fort in one of my last games and we had many questions.
1) A fort has a gate. Are the rules from a gate the same rules like the rules for a city gate. (Obviously yes, but why they are only written under city?)
2) Is a gate blocked by an attacker standing (say 0,5 cm) in front of it? Or can a defender attack through the gate standing with his rear still in the fort?
3) Can an attacker assault a fort, that has no defender? (If no, i can frustrate attackers by leaving through the gate, and if they manuever to the gate, i can go back.)
4) Does a fort have a Thread Zone?
5) Do attackers of a fort get: a) rear support? b) side support from a non assaulting element? c) side support from an assaulting element? d) +1 for beeing double based? (We had a Theban General with side support attacking, that was +7.)

1. Yes. There wasn't enough room on the page....I'm channeling Phil here. The FAQ addresses this.
2. No. The fight happens.
More when I an not on my phone.

4. If occupied, then yes. If not occupied, then no.
5. A. No B. No C. No D. Yes
I hope this helps...

Er... Joe, Page 10, "Close combat against a city, fort or camp", paragraph 9, first sentence, says:- "Troops assaulting or defending these use their combat factor against foot and do not count overlaps, or flank or rear support." Double elements are clearly mentioned in the "Rear support factors" on page 11, first paragraph, last sentence. Therefore, the +1 for being double-based is a form of rear support, and not allowed when assaulting or defending a city/fort/camp. So the answer to Decebalus’ question number 5 should be:- 5. A. No B. No C. No D. NoSome potentially useful player aids can be found here, such as the “Quick Reference Sheets” from the Society of Ancients, and the new “Army List Corrections” file: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And this is the latest January 2018 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2018

Stevie,
Oops...you are correct. I forgot the +1 is counted as rear support.
