I have talked about DBA (3.0) to my friend for over a year after every other wargame we play and we finally decided to play last Sunday. Gauls vs Marian Romans BBDBA and half way through the game he said, "Now I understand why you never shut up about these rules!" We just played another game yesterday and now we are both putting a large order into Old Glory for Alexander's armies, Persians, Indians, and I am going to slide the Parthians in as another opponent for my Romans.
Good times!

You whimp! Where are the Cathaginians and the Romans? (And the Spanish, and Syracuse, and Greek Hoplites, and...well, when does the madness end?)
Welcome to your friend!

Ain't it grand? Jim How many DBA Armies is “too many?” I currently have 19 - which can probably be used to make 35+ Amy lists. My wife thinks this is “too many.” I have 11 more in my unpainted mountain so aspire to have 30 - “too many?” But I have space for another 36 on my shelves - so space for about 55 Armies in total - will this be “too many?”

You can NEVER have to many.
Actually it is logical to have a large number, at least for competitions. Consider the following: likes, matched pairs, high/low aggression, terrain types, mounted/mixed/foot, odd troop types such as 5 elephants and WWg etc. And that is only a few things.

But if you openly declare that you have 100+ armies some might say "What sort of idiot has over 100 armies". I am that sort of idiot and now I have 86 separate armies that can be fielded with all options in DBA3 - another 4 are on the last 1-2 elements in the painting trays before they are up to the new purple code DBA is the wargame they play in heaven !!!! Cheers

I love 15mm because it is rather inexpensive to collect armies and easy to store. I always collect BBDBA armies, so I don't think I will ever have as many armies as some of you nuts
