My wife was getting fed up trying to clean etc around my "stuff". , She then suggested that we did away with the smaller spare bedroom and I convert it into my wargames room.
So now I have my wargames table permanently set up, my models safely stored, along with scenery and terrain pieces plus campaign maps etc up on the wall.
I have also got my small collection of minature helmets ranging from medieval pig faced bascinets to English Civil War Pikemans helmet and a Cavalry Lobster Pot helment, on display.
Even managed to fit in a full size replica medieval sword, a full size genuine 19th centrury Infantry Officers sword, and an old brass telescope.
Have a book shelf with all my wargame books, rule books and history books readily to hand.
She also insisted all my old RAF navigation equipment, Dalton Computer, Douglas Protractor, dividers, and an altimeter which I sort of "liberated" from a dead Shackleton along with its drift sight went into the "Man Cave". So they are displayed as well! I also have my old flying suit in there! Mind you it must have shrunk as I dont seem to be able to fit into any more!
Not to forget the tail fin from a Luftwaffe Incinderary bomb dropped on London in WW2.
Feeling a very lucky boy!
Just have this niggling voice at the back of my mind which keeps saying "What does she want"!

Can I suggest that perhaps your wife has already achieved what she wants - your stuff in your own room, that she doesn't have to clean.
The new setup sounds good for both of you. Enjoy the space and freedom.

I dream of that result - my experience is the opposite! Last year my 8 years of working away from home and weekending it came to an end - so I lost my “Man Cave” flat that had a painting table and gaming table permanently set up and a TV with back to back documentaries and war films playing. Returned home to get all my stuff relegated to the garage with only a small painting box allowed in the house and can only be accessed when the long haired general is at the gym. I’m now forced to watch “Bake Off” - sad days indeed!

hehe, next step is a fridge for beer, and a hammock... enjoy! Suggested that! A very firm line was drawn through that idea!

At least nobody was rude enough to suggest that it was my expansion that rendered my flying suit a size too small, rather than my suggestion the inferior material used had shrunk with age!
Unless of course everyone realised I am moderater and admin with the power of removal of rude, base and disrespectfal types!
Oh the joys of power!

Salutations, gentlefolk,
I'm living in a 'senior citizens' apartment building', in a (US) studio apartment or (UK) bed-sitter with seperate kitchen, main room about 20-foot square. Workbench on one side, bed on other. Have problem with pollen, makes eyes water and ache, so got myself a big-ass air filter. Running most of time on low setting, makes 'white noise' that cancels out most outside sounds. Works darn well eating pollen. But have plans, in near future, to turn it up to High - when it sounds like DC-7C taking off - and get a few armies flocked. Hoping it will keep loose flocking out of unwanted places. Then put in new filters on the thing. Wish me luck.

That flocking can get every where! The airfilter souns a great idea. Well worth the filter replacement.

I have a small air filter for removing dust and pollen just beside me, it works very well while I am sitting beside it.
I got one with an ioniser and that is very helpful, it does freshen up the air and makes it feel like fresh air after a good thunderstorm, helps a lot.
