Spent the day jumping between Lart and DBA
Had a query in one of the games of DBA Was in a fight with my spears against a pike with rear support Pike recoiled my spear and followed up a couple of times until the rear support of the pike was now in side contact with a spear on left and right.
I am fairly sure if I am in front edge contact with side edge of unit providing rear support I count as flanking the front unit as well. Was not sure if I count as overlaping a unit fighting if I am actually overlapping the unit giving it rear support. Convinced myself I wasn't so played it that way and still managed to see off Alexander's boys.
Hope that makes sense

From the 2018 FAQ... Q: My opponent is facing my line of Blades with a Pike block. I moved another element into side-to-side contact with the rear Pike. A flank contact against a supporting Pike counts as a flank contact against the front element. Does my side- to-side contact against the rear Pike element count as an overlap? A: No.
Hope that helps.

You can't get a better answer than that. Time to print off the F&Q me thinks.
Thanks

Time to print off the F&Q me thinks. Yep, it's VERY handy, and can save a lot of game time trawling throught the rules looking for the 'correct' answer. Highly recommended. Thanks to all involved in producing/updating it. Martin (ps, I don't always concur with the interpretations, but I guess that's MY problem . A hard print version makes it easier for both players to resolve any uncertainties. Worth printing, definitely)

(ps, I don't always concur with the interpretations, but I guess that's MY problem...) I am in violent agreement with you, or put it another way, I clearly have problems of my own!

We take feedback on the FAQ just let us know what you disagree about. But keep in mind that we have to reach some decision (and sometimes can't) or the question just goes unresolved.
