I am looking for 13th century muntator or hobilars in 15mm figures for my Feudal English army fighting along the Marches of Wales and Scotland, or in Ireland.
All the hobilars I've seen so far are for later 14th century and mounted on large horses vs. ponies. Minimal armor, simple helmet, spear, and no shield (or a small shield).
Any suggestions?
Thank you, Jeff

I use Alternative Armies, Medus MEC24 14THC HOBILAR as the horse is small and looks unkempt.

Of course paddy, all of the TTG horses then to look a bit smaller...
At any rate, they do match the Heath illustration from his work on armies of the Middle Ages (I couldn't find a reference depicting earlier muntators and Heath notes hobilars as showing up at the end of the 13th).
As does the Essex MID25. Looks like a typical Essex charger (Essex lists them as medium/heavies), so a swap to a smaller horse would be appropriate for the earlier hobby.
