Hi all,
Can you please tell me where a good place is to purchase measuring rods marked in BW's? (Or does everyone just make their own?)

Thanks martin!
I poked around their website some but didn't see anything. Do you know what category it's in or what I could search on?

I make my expensive, custom rods from hobby dowels and marking pens.

I bought mine - metal rods - from Products for Wargamers at a show in the UK. They have a website. Previously, I've made my own like ammianus.

.......but a note on the home page sez his 'laser cutter has broken down, but hoping to resume sale of bases and shapes after return from hols/vacation' or similar. Notes he's away for last two weeks of August.....that'd be about now.

I use really posh milled brass ones from Precision Wargames Supplies. They came in a set with a whole load of base markers.

Hi all, Can you please tell me where a good place is to purchase measuring rods marked in BW's? (Or does everyone just make their own?) I like to use the side of a cereal box, cut to 1,2,3 and 4 BW lengths. It is light, durable, cheap as all heck to replace, and can be laid vertically to measure shooting and moves in a tight spot. It can also be curved to trace move distance around an obstacle. And it has that kind of "rough and cheap" look that says "I spent every last penny on troops and terrain. Every. Last. Penny!" Sort of like this: _____ | _| |___|

The Mortam et Gloriam box set contains brass rods of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 BW, plus a 1x1 BW square. It's an excellent product, but not cheap.

In the U.K. if you are lucky the SoA if doing a promotion at a competition (and they have stock) do an excellent one, which has been given away free in the past.

I make mine like primuspilus and I put a quick reference sheet on both sides and call it a “rulrser”. I try not to bend it however.

Being cheap I make mine using bamboo skewers - some salvaged after kabobs...
Spray white than mark off the alternate BWs with red or black.
They also fit reasonably well between stands.
