Is DBA 3.1 coming anytime soon? I'm thinking of entering this hobby and don't want to purchase the 3.0 rules if I could wait a little and get an updated set of rules.
I saw in another post that Joe is working on an updated, official set of rules.
Thanks!

I would not hold my breath. As a wild guess I would say we will be waiting three to four more years until we see anything.
In any case the changes will probably be minimal.
Go ahead and purchase 3.

Only Phil Barker can write an "official" DBA. He has said the current version is the best he can do, and will do no more. It is an excellent game, so go ahead, buy it, and enjoy.

Given all that Phil went through re DBA 3.0, I don't think he will every be persuaded to do a 3.1. So grab 3.0 during one of its erratic print runs. The FAQ committee tries to clear up some issues. I amend the language of D3H2 to try and make things clearer but it only contains partial rules as it is not independent of DBA 3.0.
I do constantly maintain A Game of Knights & Knaves and will till dotage sets in at which time my son will take over.

meievalthomas, forgive my ignorance but what is D3H2? It is Tom's synchronization of HoTT 2 with DBA 3. Highly recommended! Joe Collins

Sorry Martini thought everyone knew about D3H2 - its a combination of DBA 3.0 and HOTT 2.0 so it brings HOTT up to DBA 3.0 standards. You can use it with just the HOTT elements or use all the elements from both games (so if you want Lannister Pike and Targaryen Dragons you can have them or Fast Knights and Longbows etc. its all there). Allows those who play these games to use the same mechanics and so cross over at will.
These rules are actively maintained by me and have electronic updates (though I'm limited to Phil Barker's intent I can tweek them to better reflect what he meant). They are a free bonus to anyone who has bought a copy of DBA 3.0 (you need a copy of DBA 3.0 to use them).
Battle reports, feedback etc. all appreciated.
