When I was a child my Grandmother kept expressing a wish to have a Bonsai tree, except she kept pronouncing them Banzai! She kept saying this until my Uncle an ex Regimental Sergeant Major who had fought in WW2 in the far east informed her that from his experience a Bonsai Tree was a small and decorative tree usually grown by a petite and pretty Japanese maid whilst a Banzai tree usually housed a large and somewhat aggressive Japanese soldier!
She never did get her Japanese tree, she seemed to go off the idea!
