Sorry for the blurry pics.
Hopefully you can see that each side does not line up front edge to edge, but are about 1/2 BW offset.
Both bows (according to my measurements), can shoot at the crossbowmen, and thus the crossbowmen could hit both bows.
I am assuming that bow #1 and the Cb have to shoot at each other, but does bow #2 have to shoot at the Cb, or could it target one of the knights?

For what it is worth, not having that many battles under my belt, I'll jump in with a no.
BW#2 will not be a target of shooting by the CB and the CB is not in BW#2's TZ so is free to shoot at another target.

Bow1 has to shoot at Crossbow (as it can shoot back) but that means Crossbow cannot shoot back at Bow2 - so it can shoot anyone else in range/arc.

It looks to me that Bow 2 is within arc as a target for the CB unit (and vice versa.)
In the bound if the Cb declares it is shooting at Bow 1, Bow 2 can claim they are helping the fire at Bow 1 and give the Cb a -1.
This is how I have seen it played without exception.

Oh, never thought of that.
I would have only had bow #2 help out bow #1 in their bound, so thanks for that tid bit!

Tony is correct. The second Bow can "help out" if in chooses in any bound rather than shoot at a different target. In any case it can shoot in both bounds.

And that shows my lack of experience - I would be shooting at the mounted with the second archer viewing as the greater threat in the following bounds.

Indeed both Bw can shoot at the CB . But the question is must bow 2 shoot at the crossbow? Can the player decide not to use it to help bow one, but instead shoot at the mounted across from it?
