Hello,
What do you think of moving a single elements sideways to cross a river? I seems OK with the "... same angle to its course..." part of the rule, but doesn't feel quite right with me, somehow. Thanks

Absolutely no problem- doesn’t look right, but within the rules...

doesn’t look right, but within the rules... I agree. It would be quite slow though in anything but a paltry river. Front edge would be in the river for a minimum of 2 moves.

I am reminded of a certain clarification regarding elements moving "along" a road.
I humbly suggest that crossing a river would represent projection and threat of force toward the opposing bank, and not down or up stream?

I humbly suggest that crossing a river would represent projection and threat of force toward the opposing bank, and not down or up stream? That’s not what page 9 paragraph 8 Threat Zones says:- “The area 1 BW deep in front of any edge of a War Wagon, or the front-edge of any other element, or the area within 1 BW of any point of camp, city or garrisoned fort, is its Threat Zone.” Still, I’m not adverse to changing the rules when necessary... Some potentially useful player aids can be found here, such as the “Quick Reference Sheets” from the Society of Ancients, and the new “Army List Corrections” file: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And this is the latest January 2018 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2018

Stevie, I think you have managed to completely and utterly miss my point!
