Greece Against Rome: The Fall of the Hellenistic Kingdoms 250-31 BC by Philip Matyszak Robin Waterfieldâs âTaken at the Floodâ made good reading on this subject. Interested to hear how you get on with Matyszakâs account.

I'm about a 1/3 through Harry Sidebottom's latest in his Warrior of Rome series, Falling Sky. As always, I am enjoying the deep dive into 3rd Century fictional Roman history.
Cheers,

Last night while waiting for the year to tick over I finally finished "To the Ends of the Earth" - happy to have finished it before the year was out, giving my read total for 2022 as 68 books (according to LibraryThing) - this is the lowest total completed in 5 years. Before the year rang in I started 'Warfare in Atlantic Africa' by John Kelly Thornton - another of the Warfare and History series by Routledge. This is more my style of book cheers

Now working through the first of two books I bought this year on John Hawkwood. The first is Frances Stonor Saundersâs âHawkwood: Diabolical Englishmanâ and itâs proving to be a good read đ

Just finished 'The Burning Road' - quite a good read, and I am changing pace with 'Longitude' by Dava Sobel - the story of how accurate Longitude calculation was developed in the 18th century.
Cheers
