I've noticed this thread has not transfered over from Fanaticus as yet, so thought I'd get the ball rolling....
I'm currently re-reading Charles the Bold by Richard Vaughan., I enjoyed it the first time around but it contains so much detail its easy to forget it when you move on to other books and topics.

There are so many books covering the Punic Wars that use Livy as at least one of their references, it must be good to read the original source in its context rather than how it stands in a quote?

After picking up a bunch of excess longbowmen from Corvus Belli's HYW range at the flea market at Historicon, I've re-started listening "The Plantagenets" on Audible again.

I've almost finished the first volume of three that covers the period of Baldwin IV. The author is Serafia Cross.
Cheers,

I am currently reading Dr. Grainger’s “The Seleukid Empire of Antiochus III”. This is a difficult read but worth the effort of discovering very useful information.

I have just commenced reading Bernard Cornwell's "Starbuck Chronicles". Already my interest in the American Civil War is being stirred! Never really had much to do with that period although many years ago I did enjoy reading "Red Badge of Courage".

Just finished 'To Settle the Crown - the Civil War in Shropshire' by Jonathan Worton. Mind food for small scale battles - just the ticket for DBX!

Hey Tony I too REALLY liked this book ! Did you get audio book as well, or read it old school? I love books but unfortunately they put me to sleep and I end up never reading the book I bought. Audio books are handy for long drives or while painting and after a few years I tend to listen to them again! Painting is one of the few things I can multi-task with (plus its kinda boring) so I'm always looking for other things I can listen to when painting. The only bad thing about audio books is that you may get a person whose voice you are not happy with. This was the case in "The Plantagenets." The guy just oozed boredom.
