I've been out of the hobby for over a year now and have been itching to get back to it. I had started a Low Countries army some time ago and would like to finish it. Looking through the list, I have or know what I need to finish it except for Feudal Levy (7Hd) and "Whitehoods" (5Hd). I'd like to stay with Essex as the original army is an Essex DBA 2.2 army pack.
Any suggestions or thoughts?
Thanks, Ken

I'm afraid I can't offer any meangful suggests. If I had a copy of the WRG or perhaps an Osprey I would look at this in the first instance. I would use this as a basis of looking for figures in the Essex ranges. I completed a Google Search and found this. Not sure if it is useful or reliable: oohmrf.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/dba-iv57-low-countries-1297-1478ad.html

Thanks for the link, I hadn't come across that before. Beautiful army, but not a lot of info I can use. I appreciate it though, thank you.

Yes, sorry Ken. Hopefully a Medieval expert can provide more meaningful information.

The White hoods were effectively something like a political party. There is a depiction of them in a version of Froissart www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=80780.0 where the hoods are worn as hats. Despite the given date of 1379, I think that is actually a 15th illustration. Earlier in the 14th century they (probably) are shown on the Leugemeete frescos erenow.com/ww/medieval-warfare-a-history/7.html In this pic they may be part of the guild of St George. Just to mix things up, they are shown here as mostly archers. Duncan Head and I had a chat about these groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/DBMMlist/conversations/topics/124245. I actually think having them as Hd wasn't right in the first place - I think they were more politically impetuous than on the battlefield. As for figures, you may have some trouble. There are some hooded Spanish figures but the sleeves are rather distinctive.
