and... finally this time again ( ), we have 2 differents answers : - one say that the Gallic player must slide to his left or be overlapped, - the second that only the 3 Roman units on the right can slide on their left and fight... (and worse, as there are, now, not aligned and the Cv Gen on his rear, the front Cv will die if the combat result is recoil! (er... or maybe the Cv Gen will be pushed back?) (for this particular part too, i feel not right with the recoil rules, units are not hard rectangle, they are quite fluid and for me, the recoil could be possible for this case, avoiding the CV Gen... it's recoiling not fleeing! for example if the position of the recoiling unit/of the rear one is equal or less than half base width...) i prefer the first answer as it's seem more realistic (after all, who dare to say to Cesar that he cannot fight!!! )

Hi @everyone! Big update today : - Roads and Waterways now snap to the edges of the tables, so no more finicking with the F8 Gizmo to put them precisely. - Redo functionality: Complementary to the Undo move, this allows you to go forward. - Dead counter: Place the dead bases on the Losses are of your color and they will be counted on the bottom. This means that if you share an screenshot of the battlefield you also show how is the battle going. - When spawning a new table, it changes the bases of all already spawned armies with minis so the base terrain matches with the new table. - Random army command: Write "!dba_random_army" on the chat and it will generate a random army (it won't spawn army in case you want to roll multiple times). - Improved forests, including a new tree model. The forest now have more or less trees depending on the type of terrain (so forest and tropical have more than dry or mountain). - Fixed erratas and/or errors on (special thanks to @elmasmalo): DBA2.2: I/32a, II/83b, III/17, III/27, III/29 DBA3.0: III/77, IV/4b, IV/5b, IV/7, IV/10, IV/13e, IV/16, IV/4a, IV/24b, IV/33, IV/37c, IV/37d, IV/38, IV/39a, IV/39b, IV/39c, IV/42, IV/44, IV/45, IV/48, IV/49, IV/52, IV/55b, IV/59b, IV/64c, IV/68a, IV/69, IV/74, IV/73b, IV/76, IV/78, IV/83c Many of them arise from a confusion with "/" option in DBA3, which means that there are armies that are effected on the other books and will be fixed on the following updates. Another important news is that the mod has been moved on the workshop. Since only Arkein could upload and due to COVID it was difficult for us too coordinates updates, I have uploaded the new version from my Steam workshop, where the mod will continue to be updates. Everything will still be the same, same authors and stuff, just from a different URL. The new version can be downloaded here: DBA2.2: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2256087587DBA3.0: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2255983207Furtheremore Arkein has uploaded the old mod with a version that has a screen in both english and spanish saying how to get the new version in case you aren't using the new links. Thanks all for your patience. If you have any question, error, bug, or feedback, just tell us

yeah of course! i will list here the area to get information (but of course, i could try to answer to your questions too! ) facebook page : www.facebook.com/groups/195413378421944(Arkein is the admin and one of the creators) Discord area (main discussion group about the TTS DBA modules) : discord.gg/z2zsq9DBA Tabletop Simulator - How to Start Playing : www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbB-OZ0Le0Y&ab_channel=ArkeinGuardianow about a training session yes i can organise that, but it's not so hard to install it! : first part is to install steam, do a steam account, buy Tabletop simulator (quite cheap if i remember) and in steam, search in Tabletop simulator workshop with 'DBA', you will find the different modules (2.2 and 3.0) subscribe to the one you want, you don't need to get anything else (armies are loaded inside the modules), normally, run TTS, go to your workshop inside it, you'll find DBA module, after it's a TTS setting to set a game room... for now, Spanish guys already organised some tournament, and i currently play a Gallic vs Roman campaign with a friend, sometimes in real and sometimes in TTS... in tts you have some physics on game parts, so you have to throw the dices on the table! yes, it's true if you let several ennemies units free to attack your beloved city or Fort, after all it's a strategic pt! most of the time ennemies try to assault camp, as it's easier than besiege a city or Fort!

don't hesitate to ask question about that TTS module, i'm part of the project, mainly graphics and 3d photogrammetry, for the small story at the beginning, spanish creators start with DBA 2.2 only, i done my best to convince them to do also a 3.0 one! so i help to do the flat bases, some terrain parts and try to scan my own armies to have them in 3d and replace the flat base. i have lot of fun to do that, it takes quite lot of time to do so for now there is only a few armies in 3d... a good way to play with friends during this complicated period! i'm sure that we could organise something interesting, like international tournaments for example!

i'm not completly agree : i bought these figs, i didn't steal them.
it is not writen somewhere on the figs package that i have not the right to do what i want with them! (of course legally and following term of services) for example, i could if i want, make a movie using these figures and sell it ! so what is the difference? (apart here, again, we didn't talk about making money)
As it'll be too complex and time consuming (waiting answers...) i'll not ask manufacturer permission, but, in the futur, i will, because i think it's fair, put the name of the manufacturer in the army read me. when i know it.
other thing, i think in the futur, i will not give my permission to use that armies scans for other games (tts or not), like that, it'll stay in the DBA family.
cheers,
Eric.

i can understand your arguments and, i will be against scan3d if we're selling anything, but here we don't make money with that. the only thing i could be agree with you is, than Table top Simulator, let people copy some games including in their workshop the entire rule of the game! we exclude that from the beginning : to play DBA on TTS you must have the rules with you. (but it's another problem) it's the same case as usual finally, people buy things and they made a copy for their friend in their wargamming club, (rules, but not only, i know people making mold and remade figs or scenery! What do you think of 3d printing so! ) for my pt of view i have thousand figs purchased from different manufacturers, so i think i participate quite well in the effort so that manufacturers will not disappear. think that we scan our armies, so we bough it, paint it, and continue to play in real with it with friends around real board! (at last no virtual beer will replace real ones for now! ) for example, i play with friend a Gallic-Roman DBA 3.0 campaign, depending hour or transport problem, sometimes we play in real, sometimes we play on TTS withe the same figs but "virtual" ones! More than that, in the contrary, i think all events, shows, pictures, videos, facebook talks... showing our DBA hobby, could contribute to expand the number of people discovering and loving this game and other wargamming with miniatures, so augmenting the potential people who will buy real figs! for a manufacturer pt of view, i'm sure that you saw that more and more figs are 3d sculpted, so the figs exist also as a 3d files, easier to copy and move from sculptor house to the manufacturer production area, also there are more and more 3d printers, so productive cost, normally, will go down. it's not an easy period now, i can understand your worry about the futur, but i'm convinced that, as i said, more you show more people will be interested in. sorry to be a bit optimistic, as a simple gamer it's of course easier for me. New medias, like great Tony's videos and in a smaller way, virtual wargamming, could help to enlarge the wargamming area. i think maybe it's time to dust off things a little... maybe DBA on TTS could be the way to help players from different part of the world to play around the same board for example...) But, i was thinking to add my small brick to the DBA edifice, no revolutionning things! thanks, Eric. (ps : i think that with the amount of work for scanning figs to add to the DBA-TTS is also so high (max 1-2 armies by month) that my own armies (around 30) will not be finished to scan until at last 2 years! (outch!) imagine to get all DBA book armies! So it open me to Photogrammetry things, that could be, my futur hobby (preserving things from time with 3d scan)

i can reply on that, 3d scanned figs are like photocopy, they are not as precise as the original ones, also we have paint these figs not manufacturers, you can ask the question about people reselling painted figs if you go that way! this DBA module on TTS is free, all of this is done by DBA enthusiastic people. yes there are available for other games, this module is licensed under the MIT License, A short and simple permissive license with conditions only requiring preservation of copyright and license notices. Licensed works, modifications, and larger works may be distributed under different terms and without source code. so when you perhaps saw some threat for manufacturers, i saw a way to develop our hobby. we can discuss about that, but not sure it's the best place to do it btw!

Hi! no, it didn't stop! it is already working on Table top simulator (search on steam, and with table top simulator workshop, DBA) the DBA workshop is free (TTS simulator cost around 20) 3d army done are I/61 Carthaginian, II/1/2/3 Indians (with elephants!), II/10 and II/33 Roman, II/32 Carthaginians. (but with flat bases, we can play to all DBA armies (DBA 2.2 and DBA 3.0)) - new 3d armies! we got Ancient Spanish II/39 a,b,c ready to play with! next will be Thracian I/48, next after, II/11 Gallic maybe. there is also lot of improvment about the game interface, textured terrain parts, 3d terrains, hills, wood, road, river, waterway... next will be BigDBA with big board, Both 160x80 and 120x60 available. so yes for example, we currently play with friend an excellent campaign called "Tres Galliae" (Roman against Gallic) 14 historics battles (sorry, in French only) and the historic background of this period, we play it partly on DBA TTS, lot of fun! have a try, and bring some ideas! also if one of you have a few time to take pictures (specific way that i can explain) or scan his Figs (good tutorial existing, with free software), he'll be welcome! Eric

Hi!! i'm not sure rules talk about difficult hill, but more about gentle hill... in fact if you talk tournament, you have to be fair. if you talk about scenario or friendly games, you can imagine specific scenario rules... with a different deployment and maybe a fort/city on Difficult hill, but for me you must add road to go to the fort doors at last!

maybe it's not a new idea, but what do you think of having some objective cards for Attacker, at the beginning of the battle the attacker will take one objective card from a objective cards deck, that he must realise before the end of the battle (or maybe just get some bonus pts?) like - kill the ennemy general, - take the enemy camp, - kill n mounted ennemy... - kill all Bow... - Kill all Elephants... - take the BUA (if exist) - and so on... it was the 2 cents idea of the saturday night (fever)

Hi everybody! So, maybe some of you saw the news, we slowly but surely advance in the Figs 3d Scan for TTS DBA workshop : - we'll have soon the Indians armies II/1, II/2 / II/3a / II/3b : - next, we work on Macedonians and Successors Armies and Ancient Spanish II/39 too... the DBA for TTS workshop will have soon Terrains with textures too! huge work, but the result is quite interesting! if some of you want to participate (maybe just taking pictures) we have a good tutorial to do that, i can get the pictures and compute them to obtain 3d models, like that, the number of armies will grow faster! here is the link of the tutorials : www.dicefromhell.de/how-to-scan-a-tabletop-miniature-part-1to sum up, you need to construct a small system like mine (rotating circle, good light, camera, that's all) and for each unit take 25 pictures on 2 levels (so 50 in total), we'll see after how to share it. thanks! Eric
