Not at all. I do the very same thing. Sometimes with historical armies and fantasy figures, sometimes with new lists (mostly loosely based on historical armies).
Since the depiction of warfare in fantasy worlds is mostly closely based on historical models anyway, there is no problem with this at all.

Willing to sell cheaper, if anyone is interested.

Totally unproblematic technically, but no-one else build armies in that dimensions, so you would have to provide everything yourself.

elliesdad: Irregular sells packs that consist of two armies and a set of rules. The rules are very old school. The armies are nice, but you would probably make a better choice by just manually selecting the things you want from their catalogue. I have used DBN (the commercially available one www.dbnwargaming.co.uk/) and found it quite serviceable. There also is 2 by 2, which is made exactly for the purpose of using 2mm armies. www.rodvik.com/2by2/I would probably go with that, since DBN is written on the basis of DBA 2 (or DBA 1 even?) and I find mixing the different versions of DBA in my head quite confusing. Already have trouble telling DBA 3 and HotT apart.

The Kappadokians by Xyston are huge.
I have used some of the larger Museum Miniatures figures as mercenary hoplites for them. They work well.
Xyston's Kappadokians are clearly 18mm, if not 20mm figures. I would say that mixing with Essex is out of the question.

Heat works well, however the fumes are probably not good for your health. If you decide to go for heat, I would use either a piece of wire heated in a candle, or a soldering iron with a fine tip.
Other than that, blades seem to be the only option. I would try a variety of shapes and varying degrees of sharpness (very sharp is not always best), maybe you find something that works for you.

...the bases will be a problem i think...
The figures are based for Impetus. Maybe someone here plays that or is interested in playing.
Re-basing would be required for DBX rules.
As said, I will consider offers.

Not sure about the pricing at all. If you think my prices are too high, please just tell me what you would like to pay. I will then consider it.

Suggestions: 1) Specify the scale of the minis. 2) You could improve the images. Firstly focus could be better. Also, you want more light shining on the portion of the subject facing the camera (i.e. don't backlight). Finally, for dark minis / bases, you want a dark background; otherwise the portion of the image showing the minis will be underexposed. :-)
1) Did that, thank you.
2) Thanks for the suggestion and the advice. I do not have specialized equipment and my attempts at photography usually end up pretty lousy. My "solution" is to just send more pictures (by email) to anyone who might be interested. I hope that it will then be possible to figure out what the minis are like from that.

Both based for the Impetus rules.
Ming (15mm):
Complete army, more than 500 points in total, so fully workable for all the usual game sizes (300, 400 and 500 points). I would like to have 200 Euros for it all.
Timurids (15mm): Complete army, more than 300 points in total, so fully workable for 300 points games. The giant stone thrower can either serve as an artillery piece or as a camp. I would like to have 100 Euros for it all.
Also, selling a complete set of Impetus rules plus all the Extra Impetus army list booklets (Extra Impetus 1-5, so 6 books in total). Would like to have 60 Euros for all six books.
If you are interested, I can send you more pictures by Email.
Postage depends on where I send it to. Sending from Germany.

Still waiting for the rest of my Alans to arrive. In the meantime, I paint my Samurai (Post Mongol, late 15th, early 16th cent.) Not overly enjoying it, but I want that army.

I like painting figures, I like building terrain and boards. I enjoy the look of toy soldiers on toy terrain boards. I like to roll dice, make measurements and all the other haptic aspects of miniatures wargaming. Being able to have fun with building stuff at home and all by myself fits my personality very well. Military history gives interesting insights into the madness of mankind, plus it can serve as an easily digested starting point on researching a historic culture or region. As with boardgames and roleplaying, I do enjoy the story that unfolds on the board. And I do enjoy some of the social dynamics of the interaction with other players (the opposite is equally true: I do very much not enjoy some peoples gaming behaviour at all).

Orcs: Fast Hd and Solid Wb. Wargs aren't well-represented in base DBA3. I'd use Cm as the model, but without the QK vs Kn, and treating all BGo and RGo as GGo for movement and combat. Oh and they should pursue.
I find that Fast Wb, Kn, LH are all good options for wargs, depending on how one understands them.
Whether Orcs should be Fast or Solid Wb is an interesting question. I can think of arguments for both. As for Hd, I think they also could be either Fast or Solid, depending on what kind of orcs (or goblins?) they are to represent. Both would work for me.

Looks great.
They would benefit greatly from some form of flocking or sand on the bases.
