Page 12 of the rules refers to 'RECOILING OR BEING PUSHED BACK'; is recoiling different from being pushed back or are they exactly the same?

Just seen a copy for sale on ebay UK at £14.00. They also have a copy of WRG's reference work 'Armies of Feudal Europe 1066-1300 2nd edition' for sale.

Just been browsing the Essex 15mm Feudal/Early Medieval range and came across codes MID49-MID54 which are new to me. They depict light/medium foot armed with spear or axe - some with shields, some without.

Bought a doormat from local Lidl yesterday for 99p. It is corrugated, dark brown on one side and slightly lighter brown on the other. Ideal for making plough, road/track (may need to dry brush with a lighter shade of brown), base for woods etc. Easy to cut with craft knife or scissors. Label states that it is 60cm x 40cm but mine actually measures 59 x 39. Also available in black and grey. BTW neither I nor anyone I know is connected to Lidl in any way other than as customer.

Stevie, many thanks. Rather embarrassing to realise that I was to blame for kicking off the discussion yet couldn't even recall where to find it!

Sadly I cannot make it now. Got a cold that came on yesterday and kept me up half the night coughing and spluttering and not much better today. Best of luck to all taking part.

I seem to recall some discussion about whether an attacker can deploy in a BUA which happens to fall in his deployment area. Can anyone remember such a discussion and, if so, can you direct me to it. Have done a quick search but no luck so far. Thanks.

Good news re the boards. Still on course to be there. How quick does the car park fill up? If I get there by 9:30 am I likely to find that it is full?

I hope to be there. Don't mind fighting 6mm armies on DBA bases. If an army includes Kn that can dismount as Bd and you play them as, say, Bd in the first game do they have to be played as Bd in the rest of the games or can they revert to being Kn?

David, good to hear you keeping in touch and I hope you are getting all the pain relief you need. Best wishes for a full recovery; I've always enjoyed reading your posts to this site.

I used to enjoy visiting the DBA Yahoo group but recently I've found that before I can access any of the content I am required to sign up for all sorts of monitoring by some outfit call OATH. I don't want anyone tracking my every contact with the internet and, no doubt, selling my details to all and sundry just so that I can be bombarded with marketing messages. Is anyone else having these problems and if so is there a way around them?

Watched the Mithradates/Rome game yesterday and, as usual, it was both instructive and entertaining especially as I've never used scythed chariots before. Re some other comments, what you are doing and the way you go about it are just fine with me. Given that you are using the bare minimum of equipment and that filming is not your 'day job', I think you and Mitch do a great job. As for topics to cover tomorrow, I agree with others that weird results from fleeing into contact and the issue of who conforms to who when lining up in front edge/corner to front edge/corner is prevented by a physical obstacle, are topics that I'd like some enlightenment on.

When do you count flank support - only once or can you count it twice? For instance, suppose the following:
player A Ax1 Ax2 Bd player B Sp1 Sp2 Sp3
Player B's three elements of Sp are in close combat with Player A's elements and all are in good going. I understand that when Sp1 fights Ax1 then it counts flank support from Sp2 and the same goes for Sp3 when fighting the Bd. What happens when Sp2 fights Ax2? Sp2 is in side to side and front corner to front corner contact with Sp1 and Sp3. Is its combat factor 5 - i.e. counts flank support from either Sp1 or Sp3 but not both; or is it 6 - i.e. counts flank support from both Sp1 and Sp3?
I thought that it would count side support twice but I've misread or misinterpreted the rules a number of times so I could be wrong again. If side support can only be counted once, where does it say so in the rules?
