Outstanding camp Tony, I'm very impressed. Thanks for posting the photos. You are most welcome. It just takes a little longer to post things here vs. Facebook because of having to use an image hosting site and not having a home computer anymore.

A shame that the Hall of Ancient Warriors don't have pictures of their figures online.

To clarify: David Shepps is qualified for winning the Enemy of my Enemy DBA Tournament at Recon 2017. (Tony you listed a "David Sheppard with African Vandal 2-1 50 Points" in your results for Armies of Africa Tournament - so this is really David Shepps?) Another addition: Charles Zwinak winner 15mm Open Adepticon - Bob Beattie GM See you all at Historicon. Thomas J. Thomas DBA USA Tsar If I did it is my mistake. David Shepps is his real name.

Finished the solid pikes for my Nanzhou army last night. Tony, presumably, you're using Eureka's un-shielded spearmen figures ( Eureka code 300NCO04) for the Fast Pike elements, right? That's my plan, at least, as I reorg and renovate my III/376 Nan-Chao for Purple. -- Yet another army that's gotten more interesting in V-3. A rare mix of Solid and Fast Pikemen... Not sure how I'm going to use them, but it should be a fun challenge. That is correct, Paul. Those figures can be used as either 3Pk or 3Ax without any modification. I suspect I will always use them as 3Pk, however, because that is the version of the army that is more unique for me - since I already have other Ax armies.

Good stuff, Paul. I personally love painting shields.

This was ambiguous in 2.2 and so discussed by 3.0 development group. Phil wanted the "no pursuit" language - never clear why - and all in group at least wanted a final answer. You can play at home anyway you want (we do) but in tournaments we have to stick to the letter of the law which is Pursuit doesn't even start. TomT This is how we have been playing it as well, Tom.

This army would be a cool one to build as it would have great diversity in troops including East Africans and people from all over the Abbasid lands. I don't mind mixing manufacturers as long as they are size compatible. If I were to build them I have lots of figures that would fit the bill from Minifigs, Essex and Old Glory.

We use 24" x 24" and 30" x 30" in all our tournaments.

BTW - how are your Nan Chao coming along? I have to finish the 4x3Ax and they are done (but they won't be a patch on yours) Making slow progress. There are lots of holidays and birthdays during this time of year so I haven't even been able to paint for more than a couple of session in the last couple of weeks.

(Taken from my post on the painting thread) My Current Vietnamese are an army thrown together with cast offs from Hall of Ancient Warriors. He had a picture of a painted Vietnamese army on his website with a (very reasonable) price tag on it, so I asked if it was still available but sadly it was gone. Must be this one below I saw a while ago on the net and save the pic:

A most pleasant and cohesive palette of cool reds and blues to go along with the cold, hard, iron of the metal plating. Very Feng shui, Tony. Thanks, Paul. Actually, the armor on the horses is supposed to represent buffalo hide. This army has a been a little challenging as I am limited by what is known about them from mainly one painting. Honestly, I really don't know how in the hell they were able to sculpt the figures based on it. The challenging part comes as you need a bit of artistic license to work with the little bit that is known. The description in DBM is as follows: "Most troops wore elephant, rhino or buffalo-hide armour, coloured red, with designs of flowers, insects and animals in yellow and black dyes."I decided that the pike men and riders of the horses would have rhino/elephant (gray colored) armor and the horse armor would use buffalo (brownish.) I also opted to make some of the armor on the soldiers not dyed to add some contrast, otherwise it might look too monotone and boring/look as if it was all thrown together. The shade of the red-dyed armor is IMO a plausible color (after dyeing a gray item), not a loud patent-leather as it would seem from the painting. I figured those that painted the ancient painting it had only one shade to work with.
