I bought some paint brushes and grass tufts for little gifts to be given back to me. Think the moolah I got will go on Victrix Gaul and EIR cavalry.

Because we can never have enough lead, I splurged and bought three matched armies for DBA 3.0. The three seem to make for a perfect trifecta for battles among themselves, and they are book one (!). They are I/28 Sea Peoples, I/24b Later Hittite Imperial Army, and the ever popular I/22b New Kingdom Egyptian Army. Two are littoral and the Hittites are arable, so some variety in the boards. The aggression 4 Sea Peoples are the Vikings of the period, voyaging around attacking everybody, for gamers attracted to those types of blood-thristy ocean-going marauders. Lots of chariots for those so inclined also. I have never gamed or studied this period, fully 1000 years before the birth of Christ. Looking forward to the task!

Good luck! Hittites vs NKE is where I started with my DBA revival about four years ago now, though for me it was a period of longstanding interest. Built my way up to a set of eight; Sea Peoples were #4.

I use Essex, with my account there. I load up the shopping basket and check out in under 30 seconds, which is a dangerous thing for my wallet. Looking forward to painting these three armies. i've never done anything like them. Thank you for the insights. Looks like I made a promising selection.

I've gone for the Mycenaen after re-reading the Illiad, I know nothing of the period really and i'm taking advantage of the Museum Miniatures sale as the look yummy.

Donโt know how much Dave at Museum Miniatures has made from his January sale but he says he has already exceeded his PayPal limit and Iโve just contributed some more. Well done Dave - quality models at inflation beating prices. Canโt complain about that!
I just couldnโt resist some Z Sulpt Trojans and Mycenaeans given the 25% reduction. Theyโll be quite a decent matched pair.

I'll introduce myself here by showing just how far and fast I've fallen down the DBA/HOTT rabbit hole. I have packs for II/5c, f, and h coming from Museum Miniatures taking advantage of their sale and see how good those Z line figures are; they have been sitting in customs for a few days now. I also ordered packs or Meerkatmen and Mongeese from Magister Militum since their survival is apparently in question; a Meerkat army will help get my wife to play and preserve interest for my daughter. The Mongeese are just too cool to not get & right up the alley of a friend who's interested in playing. I bought enough figures for a II/73 Saxons second hand from someone at the local club.

I'm afraid you have a lot further to fall. For a start your Saxons are going to need an opponent: Middle Imperial Romans (II/64a) might be fun; or perhaps one of the Sub-Roman British (II/81).
