We decided against the tournament and decided to do a large battle between Rome and Gaul with assorted allies on each side. 15 commands of Gauls with a few Spanish allies mixed in wandered into a valley occupied by 6 commands of polybians with around 4 commands of allies.
In classic Gallic fashion there were disagreements on how to muster the army and attack.
Finally the army was deployed and crashed like the evening tide onto the Roman front lines and were repulsed.
The Spanish allies and several Gallic tribes were broken and retreating when finally one of the Roman legions broke under the weight of a Gallic charge.
Rome carried the day and looking forward to doing it again.

Wow that sounds like a crazy big game! Was there a reason for having 15 v 10 in terms of commands? Do blades win out against warband when you scale up the game that much?

We are prepping to fight larger battles in our own version of the punic wars!
With a limited front and ability for legionaires to be double ranked to cover holes they were able to hold up.
Also the addition of Auxila to the polybian list makes the army a little better at warband fight.
