In a post on the Society of Ancients Forum, about an up-coming Battle of Teutoburg exhibition in British Museum, there was a note (and link posted by Duncan Head) about a Roman dice tower find (some years ago) in Germany, used for dice games, and bearing inscription one about the defeat of the Picts, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vettweiss-Froitzheim_Dice_Tower Perhaps its one for mdf minded to mimic for our games tables!!? Absolutely fascinating. I would have been quite sure that dice towers were a recent invention, if asked. How wrong I would have been.
Would make a great camp. Or just a gaming table requisite.
