Hi all
I'm very interested in the new 3D arabian figs from Copper Miniature. They are supposed to fit the III/25 lists. But as i absolutely don't know how the previousor next arabian armies looked like, i don't know which other armies i could do with those figs. Could you tell me what you think about it ?

Hello Ainkatsiss,
these figures also cover the Army III/31 Umayyad Arab Army from 661-750 AD. They may also be used for an early army III/33 Early Muslim North Africa 696 AD and an early army III/37 Abbasid Arab 747 AD.
Regards
Mark. W.

Those are lovely minis. I love all the Red Copper stuff - can’t fault their design etc. However, I understand that if a mini is shown without a base then it doesn’t have a base. I unsure how robust Wargames figures will be if they are just superglued to their movement base via their tippytoes? This is the only thing stopping me from investing heavily in Red Copper minis. I have asked Baueda if they could add bases to the figures but unfortunately they replied that their license is that minis are printed as shown. Any advice from users of Red Copper minis would be appreciated.

I can't talk much for the historical accuracy or for the re-usability, but they are wonderful figures
I do agree that the ones standing on their toes aren't very stable at 15mm. I feel like they are designed with 28mm in mind. However I have had only one breakage with my sea-peoples/Philistines and they have been to a tournament and back. I just skip the jumpy sculpts when printing.
If you print at home then I also recommend printing at about 90% original scale of going for 15mm. This puts them in line with xyston and larger 15mm (might have to go smaller to match smaller ranges)
In regards to the more dynamic posed figures, It is relatively easy to add stands yourself with free software like blender. Plenty of you tube videos explain the basics better than I could do. I haven't bothered personally, I just ignored the delicate sculpts, but I did remove the spears because I just think spears are not print friendly.

For those who are members of the Society of Ancients, Nik Gaukroger has just posted some pictures of some Red Copper NKE figures on the SoA forum in the "Currently painting" thread.
He mentions that he had a few breakages, but that these were easy to repair.
