The Early Libyans have the option of 4Sp with large shields (towards the end of the time period). Does anyone have a clue as to what they might have looked like? On-line research has brought me nought.

On-line research has brought me nought. I understand it is a kind of long stick with a pointy bit at the end, the shield a sort of flat wooden or metal shape sometimes with a painted facing.

Given the period(s) where they are equipped as Sp: 665-476 BC & 475 BC-70 AD...
I'd equip them like Lydian 'hoplites', see pg 115, figure 47 'Armies of the Ancient Near East 3000 BC to 539 BC'
or as Libyan hoplites as seen in Carthaginian armies. Pics of these everywhere.
Note: this period [c & d lists] is no longer that of the very early Libyans running around naked with phallus-sheaths. It spans from the early to very late and even post-hoplite periods. And the description of the Sp in the army list text supports the hoplite look.
Cheers
