Humble origins my head teacher wrote in my leaving school reference. He didn't like the idea of working people forming unions like the student union proposed on a sixth form noticeboard. But enough of realpolitik as I might get banned here for talking politics....
Workers of the Imperial Roman World would have been implored (and possibly paid if freemen) to have painted such a grand building as you have constructed and acquired, (is it a Sarissa product?) and probably the workmen would have added their own graffitti (even if hidden under other decoration) .... like "Erige tua! Magnus irrumatis!" Before running off to join the bandits in the hills or seek out the local Spartacus!!
Enjoy CarlL

...DBA distinguishes Germanic tribes into West Germanic and East Germanic, with the latter considered to be sarmatized. In the west, the later Franks are distinguished from the Saxons and the later Bavarians. In addition to large areas in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic were Germic territory. With the so-called migration of peoples, new steppe nomads arrived. Old Germanic tribes merged into new tribal associations and moved southwest into more fertile Roman land... ...after triumph, the West Germans lose their strong cavalry except for the Franks and become light javelin throwers. Under DBA there is an imaginary Bavarian kingdom from 250AD with or without Bulgarians. My Saxons above Timurilank painted for me years ago...

carll@: there are so many ways to fight historical battles. I played weekly before the plague. You need a few armies for that. From now on there will be a topic in the forum that I also had to overcome...
