Six games of DBA on a biblical theme, today, plus one game of Hott, with fellow conspirators Colin and Richard.
1. Later Assyrians fought the Phoenicians at the coast. A Phoenician landing was defeated, and the Assyrians advanced to secure a 6-0 (+Hd) win.
2. Phoenicians now fought an invasion of Philistines. The Phoenicians disembarked on the Philistine flank and advanced, forcing back their chariots against their camp. On the landward flank Philistine light troops scrapped indecisively with their Phoenician counterparts, while in the centre the Phoenician general and chariot escort charged, had some success (but he died as the battle was won…) : 5-2g to the Poeni.
3. Kushite Egyptians fought the Bedu. Egyptian archery accounted for a swathe of camels, and other Bedouin light foot fell, for a 4-0 Kushite win.
4. Philistines with a Phoenician ally invaded Bahrain (/Dilmun). The Dilmun commander enlisted help from tribesmen (3 x Cm). A to and fro battle, finally won by the Dilmun side, 5-3.
5. Medes defended vs Kushites in a long and edgy battle…Kushites had the luck, though, claiming a 4-1 win.
6. Medes now defended against Libyans…skirmishers were driven from a gentle rise to the Median fromt right, and a scrap in a large village on the opposite flank saw more skirmishers routed formthe loss of a few Mede bowmen. 4-1 Mede victory.
7. Hordes of the Things - a skeletal army of undead, led by a necromancer general fought a surging advance by the forces of the Lizard King…a touch and go battle, ending when the necromancer charged and defeated enemy giant turtles, with support from a resurrected charioteer hero. An undead win, by around 12-8.
