My first couple of armies (Later Carthaginian and Polybian Roman) is quite finished, so 'ill be soon able to finally play game with them. But i still miss a camp for both of them. Could you share with me some ideas ? And as i will also create others armies from this period, i'm open to others ideas for them.
So which idea you have for camp for:
Later Carthaginian Polybian Roman Lusitanian Gallic Celiberian
(and probably more to come ^^)

Thank you. They both have the advantage of being "doable" from scratch i think. Will probably spend some hours on it unless others ideas come ^^

These were scratch built with basic materials and Milliput. Roman Marching Camp dbagora.blogspot.com/2017/10/early-roman-marching-camp.htmlHellenistic Campdbagora.blogspot.com/2017/10/hellenistic-camp.htmlThe construction is better illustrated here. Same technique used for the Roman camp.

As always timurilank, your advices are very valuable.
The look like the Baueda pieces and the tuto is complete to build these. I'll work on these tonight.
The helenistic is for the Carthaginian and the roman for Rome, i suppose, or maybe even others amry in my "pool" could use them ? I really like the option of building at least 2 of each to be able to play these as terrain element also.

The two Roman camps have a third section of 2BW x 3BW, when used, the camp can upgrade to a Fort, 4BW x 3BW.

The two Roman camps have a third section of 2BW x 3BW, when used, the camp can upgrade to a Fort, 4BW x 3BW. Isn't it a bit big for a fort ? In in "how to use forts" pdf, stevie seems to advice smaller one. Btw, two camps could make a smaller 2x2 fort.
But this let my previous question un-answered ^^. Do you think some of the II/39 Ancient spanish lists could historically use roman or helenistic camps ?

Battlefield terrain, page 6
Area Terrain Features includes those listed below as Bad Going or Good Going and also BUA (see p.7). Each must fit into a rectangle of which the length plus width totals no more than 9BW. You are not obligated to use a piece of maximum size; large or small size terrain pieces will depend on the armies fielded and your style of game.

Yes i know. But to be honest for now all this kind of things a bit "therical" to me... I' need to play and make my own experience.
I've "speed crafted" this today, for my scratch builded II/11 Gallic army. Nothing really beautifull, but it was fun to try something ^^. I'll do better following your tutos timurilank
The empty version :
and with some guards inside:
Sadly the figs are not as good as i would have liked... But that's another problem. Probably due to Blue Stuff mold and cheap polymer clay used to make the figurines. Because the "original" was not as bad. But it's a fun project, and it's a lot cheaper (and longer sadly ^^)

Finally done !
Easy, but long to wait for the glue. It looks very good, thank you timurilank for the advice.
So now i have enough to play the first "real" game. See you tomorow in the battle report section ;-)

Great work! I have to admit my camps came from the aquarium section of the pet store.

Great work! I have to admit my camps came from the aquarium section of the pet store. I have a few aquarium pieces, some purpose bought camps and a few handcrafted Must admit my medieval camp scene is generic enough that it has played through the ages
