Some of us have gotten to know Giuseppe of " Legio Heroica Miniatures", via correspondence, purchases, etc. I reached out to him yesterday, knowing that Brescia, Italy (like my own Seattle) is one of the hotspots of this current unpleasantness. Here are excerpts of his reply. (I wish my Italian were anything like his command of English.) Yes, our two towns are both living a very difficult moment. Brescia, my town, is now in the "red zone", so I'm here closed in my home with my wife and there's nothing much else that we can do; fortunately my home is surrounded by country so, somehow, we're in a fairly safe place, but I hear the sound of ambulances all day and the elderly are dying by the dozen. I hope that the situation can be a little better than ours there in Seattle, even if I'm hearing that now the virus is advancing in all of the US too: Only quarantine can defy this virus, so the only thing to do is to close almost everything, remain indoors and let the storm pass... I thank you very much once again and I wish the very best to you: Let's hold on!!!
Cordialmente
GiuseppeI'm sure many of you share a feeling of relief to know that he is safe and well.

My thoughts and best wishes to all during these uncertain times. This time will pass but it is likely that we will all be touched by this crisis. And it won't be because of a lack of toilet paper! Stay safe and look after each other.
Jim
PS At least our little lead men will give us a pause from the worries of the day.

Giuseppe has posted an update on his website ( www.legio-heroica.com/News-en.html) saying that he is no longer able to fulfill orders, but hopes to resume trading as soon as possible. Brescia, which is 30 km from Bergamo, is enforcing their stay-at-home policy. The situation will be evaluated on the 3rd of April. If all goes well for Legio Heroica and business may resume, expect an increase delivery time as borders may still be closed but for essential traffic. A similar stay-at-home policy is in place in the Netherlands and no doubt the 6th of Aprils is marked on every calendar.
Timecast UK have reduced their staff as of the 16th of March.
Email orders will be fulfilled but posted with less frequency.

An update on Giuseppe.
He has been in hospital for an operation, but is now back home again and ready to resume trading.

Hey, that's great news. I went over to the Legio Heroica website and read his announcement. Here's a shot of Giuseppe from before all this current unpleasantness. That is to say, that's probably not hospital food he's enjoying there. He makes an awfully nice range of Burgundians. Hmmm...
