Guys,
I’ve played many sets of Wargames Rules over the last 40+ years and the ones I remember are the ones that build a community around them. I feel that DBA and Fanaticus is doing that at the moment - so I wanted to recognise it and say well done and thanks to one and thanks to all.
I have previously enjoyed a community of WW2 gaming in the UK and US but think we should reflect on how DBA is truly global. I feel if I was ever abandoned anywhere in the world; US (particularly Florida), UK, Europe or Oz and I wanted a game - I’d find one......and that is kinda special.
I also feel that, while we may have minor disagreements about the specifics of particular rules, Army lists and shit like that, our differences are dwarfed by our similarities and our love of putting 12 elements on a table and rolling a few dice. That feels like a beautiful, disfunctional but pretty special sort of community to me.....may it long continue!
Keep playing, keep painting, keep building armies and keep talking shit about DBA (wether we agree or not) and may your dice always roll low - at least when I’m playing you! 🙂
Paddy

👍👍 I'll go along with the old Siskel and Ebert approach, and give your comment A BIG TWO thumbs up, paddy!

The community is great I feel. I come to the Fanaticus website to learn and share stuff about DBA but also because it's a nice corner of the internet away from the madness and mayhem of the real world.😀

But Paddy, would it be as much fun if the rules were unambiguous and in simple English? Cheers Jim

But Paddy, would it be as much fun if the rules were unambiguous and in simple English? Cheers Jim On the other hand, clearly written rules are not an indicator of how well the rules play. Yin and yang.
