Last night I played a couple of games of DBA... These were the first for a very long time. Probably around four years... I've been through a number of 'event's and now I'm out the other side and I'm gaming DBA again. The world seems to have achieved balance.
Played 2.2, cos I'm stuck in the past and did I/1 Sumerians vs I/4(?) Anatolian hill raiders.
The Anatolians popped a couple of nasty ambushes on the Sumerians, winning the first encounter and losing the second. I managed to be on the losing side both times. Ho hum... some things don't change )
Got a date for another couple of games next week - Gasgans vs Hittites.
I'm now researching Medes. Anyone got any good recommendations for 25mm Medes?
Gaming, painting and possibly buying, yay!

You could always try the Caesar and Zvezda Persians which are very nicely sculpted and are 25mm - not supersized!

Many thanks for the feedback and recommendation. I'm a supersized fan myself So far I can only find black tree cavalry, but I'll keep looking.

HCH miniatures.
I googled painted 25mm minifig Persians, checked images, and found some nicely done Persian infantry. No link though....Always check madaxeman.com as well.

easterngarrison.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.htmlEastern Garrison is a place where obsolete ancient armies retire! Lots of photos of the figure ranges from the 1960's and 1970's that I grew up with. Heck you could even look at Scruby miniatures. I don't know of any new True 25mm ranges though.

I’d add in Hinds Figures Ltd. www.hindsfiguresltd.com/index.html The Hinds side of the house re-sells old collections if that is your cup of tea. They also have the old Hinchliffe line – and the Archaemenian Persians are close to what the Medes are normally depicted. Use: Ap1 to Ap4 (Archer, Immortal, Spearman and Officer) for the infantry and the Apc2 Armored cavalry for the cavalry. Sadly the old Garrison website closed down so the Eastern Garrison is the best place to look for them. Essex has some smaller scaled 28’s that are closer to the classic Garrison/Hinchlife 25’s but being here in the States it is hard to get a good read on which ones fit. Sadly the Scruby 25’s are closer to what are called 20’s these days. Most of his ancients were old Greenwood/Ball conversions in 20mm. You might want to try the Old Glory ancients – some are a bit big but many are usable. A while back I shifted my ancient armies over to 25’s and am happy with the result.

Wow there's some old stuff there. I have to say I'm not a great fan of the classic figures. Something more modern would suit. I guess I should be calling them 28`s. I think I might be going for some Cutting Edge figures but I'm not sure what cavalry will go with them. Here's seem to have a lot of cavalry. I'm not sure if the armies of the fanaticism are still visible but if they are you can see some of my older 25mm DBA armies. Si
