Going against all interweb 6mm logic four of us from club decided to do 80mm wide. Even doing 40mm x 40mm so we could do Lart or just stick with DBA basing would have been more sensible. Janco Toys massive is not known for it"s sensible approach to wargaming of course. We have been known to give the Germans a crack at landing on D Day.

Today I finished the last 7Hd and 3Wb for the Later Tang and also 2xLH for the Eastern Patsy Roman This means that the last strip of Tang goes into the painting tray - 2xSp and 1xArt and in turn the first two strip of Italian Lombards will be promoted to the Undercoat tray The fun just don't never be done Cheers

Just glued the last of the Skythian cavalry to the bases. Waiting on a delivery from Museum of the infantry to go with them.

I have cleaned, based and undercoated 17 elements of Spanish. These are not the ancient types, but are line troops for the Peninsular War (1809). When painted, these will complete the project.

Today I finished off the first of four elements for my Muslim North Africa & Sicily
Cv(Gen) and one each of Sp, 3Ax and Ps are now done - ideally I can make some further headway over the weekend
Cheers

I've just started on II/73, Early Anglo-Saxons. With 11 solid warband and 1 Ps they are not exactly a fear inducing army!
Cheers,

Despite slowing down on my 6mm project I have finally ordered some Xyston Successor Cataphracts to replace the magister militum figs.
The MM are ok but look like boys on hobby horses next to the rest of the Xyston lads.

I finished basing the Muslim North Africans and the Patsy Roman LH over the weekend
Then when Wf(X) and the elder of the (not so) little warbands headed off to the pictures (the younger of the (not so) little warbands was already at work) on Sunday afternoon I took out the paints and brushes in the quiet house.
While the music blared I painted up two elements of Sp for the Later Tang. They are just one Art element short of completion and when they are done then the first strip of the Italian Lombards will move up into the painting tray.
I also took stock of the North Africans - this army has relatively little choice and most of the foot elements are 2 or 3 figures. It means that a number of elements can be put onto a single painting strip. I have only one strip yet to put into the trays before another army gets queued up (most likely the East Frnakish)
Cheers

Just about to start painting the last element needed for my Civil War Assyrians, the heavy chariot general.
I tend to leave the general element to last when painting up armies, just seems fitting to me.
Once that is done, then off to paint the I/37b Zagros Highlanders, which I am really looking forward to.
And to top it off, I just received the figs. I want to use for the 3Ax from Magister Militum today (BAB15), so talk about good timing!
