The Zanj were painted and based by the weekend but didn't get onto the table for battle (neither did Lambert Simmnel's rebel army which was the other one I hoped to test fly)
However I did get two battles in proxying for the Byzantines in our campaign and in both cases was given a sound drubbing by the Nobades.
I also fought to defend my own country (Yemen) against the Pre Islamic Nomads and was likewise defeated.
I will hopefully have a campaign synopsis ready by the end of the week
Cheers

Today the Andalusians received another element - the Spanish 3Kn rolled off the line.
Now I have to experiment with matching the basing skills of the friend who provided the originals
Cheers

Still waiting to get the replacements from OG15 (will call to see if they got my reply on the horses), but working my way into the Nubians. In the interim I went ahead and did the pack of Battle Honors Athenian cavalry that I ordered when I got the Nubians, orcs, Amazons, and Parthians at the Xmas sale. I had 5 of the armored Athenians from other lots and with these I now have three elements for a BBDBA Athenian army. Hoplites are coming along between other projects. Wrapped up most of the previously mentioned Indians - 7x3BW, 2xCV, and 2 of the 3 LH generals (third need some javelin repair on one fig). Also wrapped up three CV for the Three Kingdoms BBDBA - Viking Forge Han - thevikingforge.net/MAC-18.htmlGot them off ebay and they came with the armored horse - thevikingforge.net/MH-06.htmlSaddles don't work with the robes so I trimmed the cantles down (they are too high anyway). Previously I had just painted some of these Greer Armies and Enemies of Ancient China as is, but for these I went ahead and painted the brigandine/armor robe as a robe and painted on the typical Han body armor. Next go round (I have another dozen or so of these) I am thinking of getting rid of the gorget. Also performed shieldectomies on four orcs that came with skull shaped shields - not what i picture for classic Tolkienesque orcs. Will come up with some rouds or other shields to replace them with (second orc from right top row) - oldglory15s.com/images/FO1.jpgP.S Was going to insert the pictures directly, but got an error message that the forum has reached its attachment limit.

I have begun refurbishing eight elements for an Armorican army (II/ 81c), 2 x 3Kn, 4 x LH and 2 x Ps. By next week I should have a delivery of figures to fill out this list and a few others for an upcoming project.

Going to have a crack at an ECW force for DBA. Got a decent sized army for Lart, DBA and P&S so breaking it inti chunks may be best for painting.

I've lost my painting mojo at the moment. Arrrgh!
No new lead for the table since before Christmas......and I can normally rattle off an army in under 2 months. Is this the equivalent of writers block?
If anyone finds said mojo then please return to me!

I am just commencing repainting some of my War of the Roses figures. Mainly artillery and crew, element of handgunners, element of crossbows and an element of blades/foot knights. These elements were my first attempt at painiting and it shows!
I am doing this prior to ordering further 20mm WotR figures from Irregular minatures to expand my collection.

Today I completed 3x3Kn for my Late Swiss army. Only the 6Kn element and a camp to go. The figures for the 6Kn element have been cleaned up, glued to painting nails and will be undercoated today.
Cheers,

Not painting any miniatures at the moment, but I have been wrestling with banners/flags for my Merovingian project. One can easily find information for banners and flags of the Carolingian period but the Merovingian models remain scarce.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
