Does anyone have any idea how long Khurasan will be off line for? I have this urge to place an order.

Finished rebasing and touching up my Spartans. Next will be the other Early Hoplite Greek (with the exception of the Thessalians, for whom I do not have appropriate miniatures).

Those Mayas look beautiful... Please post a picture when they are finished. Happy to oblige. Here's a posed photo of my renovated III/22c Mayans by the Chichen-Itza BUA (Edifice) 15mm Naismith. At center is the "5Bd" Gen element. 4Bw, with pet, at left, and the other 4Bd at right, with Fast Auxilia behind. Another pic here. Alas, they could not reverse history. Eric Donaldson's IV/19c Spanish & Tlaxcalans dispatched these Mayans in two entertaining games. Here's Eric's Fast Knight Gen element. Eric intentionally placed just two mounted figures, underscoring how few horses the Spanish initially had in Mexico, adding a pair of sword & buckler men instead. (Spaniards are 15mm Essex and Khurasan, painted by Eric Donaldson, Seattle.)

The Mayans look excellent Paul, very colourful and look great with the edifice. A clever idea for modelling the Spanish as well.

Almost updated my Numidians to be make them purple compliant over the weekend. They are an army that struggles on the table and I'm not sure the remaining options will help. However, a useful army to field as an ally in BBDBA.

My Nan Chao are now battle ready - today I finished 1x4Pk and 2x3Pk to bring up to completion the elements I have chosen to use in my current campaign. I also completed the second Ps element for this army. All that remains is to finish the 4x3Ax for this army to complete them.
Cheers

Today's effort saw the completion of 1xLH for my Mongol Conquest. They are 2xCv from purple compliance, and at the moment one of the Cv elements just needs the last bit touched up whilst the other is undercoated and in the current painting tray.
After that I will turn my attention to rebuilding the Siamese and am now considering rebuilding (and basing) the Medieval Vietnamese.
Cheers

I am using a mix of Khurusan and Irregular for the Siamese - the plan is to use Khurusan for the El, Bw, Ps, Wb, and Ax and Irregular for the Cv and Bd. I originally made up a Siamese army out of cast off figures mostly Hall of Ancient Warriors Khmer (I had bought a Khmer army from HAW but then built up the figures from Outpost instead) with a couple of Falcon Indonesians thrown in. At the time (DBA2.2) the Siamese foot were 6x3Wb OR 6x3Ax so I could use the same figures for either as there would be no mixing. The Purple book changed that with the foot now being 6x3Bd or 3Wb or 3Ax so I needed some way to distinguish them. I saw that Irregular made Siamese so I ordered some of the Spearmen and Cavalry (I was never very happy with the original Cv in that army as it was Khmer Maiden Guard) and was going to somehow work out my usual distinction - All Jav = Ax, Mix of Jav and Sidearm = Wb all Sidearm = Bd. Then I saw the new Khurusan range and started to drool. I bought some of the swordsmen and spearmen and also the command pack (2xEl). I thought of using the guards with 2 swords as Bd and the foot with sword and shield as Wb and the spearmen as Ax. But a significant number of the Irregular foot have a sword rather than a spear and have a big shield and the elaborate helmet. So I have now gone with Irregular for the Bd, and the Cv while the Wb are a mix of the two and one sword figures (with maybe a couple of figures from other ranges in there). Truth be told - if I get to bring the Siamese out on Sunday for Collision Course (I will play if the number are odd) I will run them as all 3Bd and use a mix of Wb and Bd elements and just call them Bd. I have to order two packs of Bw from Khurusan to finish off the army.
The old Siamese will be reformatted as a Khmer and possibly sold
As for the Vietnamese - this is another army thrown together with cast offs from Hall of Ancient Warriors. He had a picture of a painted Vietnamese army on his website with a (very reasonable) price tag on it, so I asked if it was still available but sadly it was gone. He sent me an unpainted army but it was made up all sorts of figures. I made the Cv element out of Burmese (Chariot) and Khmer (Outpost), the Ps, Cb and Bd were all Chinese ranges from HAW but the Ax were allsorts. One of the Elephants is a BIG plastic toy but it looks good with a howdah glued on. The Wb were Irregular Indians and the Art is probably an Irregular piece as well - I was given it painted long ago by my wargames mentor. This army is looking tired next to the rest of the Yuan/Sung collection and the Purple book needs me to 1) Ditch the Art - which has moved on to the Hsi Hsia. 2) Add 1x4Bw and 1xCv
Cursory research online suggest that later Medieval Viet Cv were well armoured so what I am planning is 1) An Outpost Ching Cv element for the additional Cv 2) A mix of HAW and Evil Gong generic Chinese Archers for the 4Bw 3) Some Chinese figs of unknown provenance (some may be Grumpy Chinese peasants) that I bought in bulk from a bring and buy - they all have spears, add a round shield and the 4x4Ax is taken care of 4) The existing Cv and Ps will be rebased and stay with the army 5) A Grumpy Ming Handgunner and an Outpost Ching drummer will become the additional Ps (Handgunners) 6) Still debating what to do for the Cb - my current figs look too much like Chin to stay on 7) I may replace the Elephants as my (again very cursory) research makes it look like Vietnamese El had platforms not unlike the Khmer/Cham
I will keep you posted.
Cheers

David, Thanks for listing the possible manufacturers for the two armies. The Khurusan figures do look nice.

Today I polished off 1xEl for my Siamese (Khurusan) and 1xEl(Gen) for the Cham (this is an Irregular Siamese El) and two more foot portions of Samurai 6Cv.
I was perilously close to finishing the last figures of my Nan Chao (4x3Ax), and my Mongol Conquest (1xCv), with the last of my Turfan Uighur (2xLH + a new Cv(Gen) - an Outpost Uighur prince) and three more Siamese Foot elements coming along nicely.
Cheers
