it’s even more when you consider it’s two of each army 😱😱😱!! P At some point, I hope you get to take a pic of the tabletop with all those chariots on it, that would be a nice sight! Will do before I sell the extra armies on 👍 P

The 16 figures for the 4x4Bd have been cleaned up and undercoated. But I think that is as far as I'll get as we head off on Saturday 21st for Xmas and don't return until the 27th. Not going to try and secrete painting equipment into my luggage 🙄. Cheers, It seems that l should have packed my paints. Apparently the ladies will be doing their stuff throughout the stay 🙄! Can't you source some locally? I was fortunately able to do that when posted to Peterhead to do the receives of inspection tools via pipeline from off-shore in the North Sea. Since the pipework is old the flows are kept slow I had every other day off. I had taken some paint gear with me but ran out.... luckily a local hardware shop was stocked for my assistance.

The second tranche of 8 Lb figures was completed today. Tomorrow I'll glue them to their bases. That leaves 1xArt and 4x4Bd to do. I don't expect to get them done before Xmas, but never say never. I hope to finish the the last of the 4Bd this week. Cheers,

This was a very productive weekend. The bases of 35 elements were covered with a sand a glue mix. This includes the Strathclyde army of 12. Paint and flock are the next step is planned for tomorrow.
Yesterday, another 18 Norman/French knights and 24 infantry were cleaned and undercoated. Horses will be first to paint and by next weekend this will complete the Norman and French armies with all their options.

Mitanni update - 4x4Bw and 2x7Hd now done and moving onto the first of the LCh... painting in groups of 3, so I feel progress being made but not too overwhelming a metal pile in front of me!

Finished paining the last 12 horse archers for my Parthian army, all they need is varnishing and basing. Went to find the foot archers and had a panic - where were they? After a frantic period, found them in the drawer they should have been in - underneath something else. Sigh. At least they are ready to be based and spray primed, once the rain stops. At this rate, the Parthians should be ready for battle in a week or two.

That means only the figures for Art element need to be cleaned up, undercoated and painted. Once that is done l can flock all 12 elements. Cheers,

HotE troops in progress, for Terry Webb and co.’s excellent Hott colonial variant.
1) Indian Army 1890’s Punjab regiment infantry and officers....now just in need of gunmetal and shiny fixed bayonets.(Minifigs)
2) For somewhat different Indian Wars, a force of US Cavalry, now only needing gunmetal, guidons and magic wash. Should be enough for the 8 x Mounted Infantry in the HotE army list (Peter Pig). Then, of course, I’ll need to paint their opponents....yet to be purchased.
Makes a change from chainmail and round-shields......

Took a wee break from painting up the Kushites, and have been madly painting up some Sp and 4Ax to add to the Assyrians.
I am trying to add more stands in preparation for running a DBA oriented event at CanGames in May, and the armies will be fielding far more than the core 12 elements.

2) For somewhat different Indian Wars, a force of US Cavalry, now only needing gunmetal, guidons and magic wash. Should be enough for the 8 x Mounted Infantry in the HotE army list (Peter Pig). Why not try some camels as mounted infantry in the arid American southwest? The U.S. Camel Corps was experimenting with pack camels from the mid 1850s, so it’s not too much of a stretch to include camel mounted troopers. And, of course, the Persians deployed camel mounted zambuks (a jingals fired from camel back) at around the same time, so that’s also a possibility. Regards, Geoff

All the Parthian horse archers are painted, varnish drying on half of them. The foot archers have been primed grey and dry-brushed white. Hopefully in a week or two the Parthians will parade.

Recently finished my III/46 Norse-Irish army ( Khurasan), featuring a CP (Gen) element. I based my vignette of the aged, Brian Boru, who was said to have been praying in his tent during the Battle of Clontarf, AD 1014, on this image. Here's another view of it. Barely visible, on a wee small table to Mr. Boru's left, is a small table, on which sit the Holy Bible and a copy of DBA 3.0. Of course.
