I've recently been re-reading the book 'The Normans of the South' by J.J.Norwich having been prompted to re-base some Norman Sp and Dismounted Milites on 20mm depth bases, I was reminded of the initial Norman invasion of Sicily in 1061 AD.This combined with the better known landing in England 1066 AD prompted the idea that could the Normans be considered (at least in these circumstances) to be considered as Littorial?
There must be other armies to which this could apply too?
Any thoughts?
Regards Eddie

...i am not so happy with littoral terrain as a compulsory feature. Not all battles of any "littoral army" were sea battles...

My recent campaign maps now specify topographical characteristics for each movement square or zone thus eliminating the need for "home terrain".
