There has been a recent discussion of this topic at the DBA Yahoo group and I noticed some divergent views about “stationary” vs. “movement”. I do not have an army that uses a CP for its commander but have imagined a scenario that could and therefore the interest in posting this.
Page 4, Blades, line eight. “Generals operating from stationary command positions…. are treated as “Solid” Blades except that they cannot move into contact with enemy.”
Page 5, Basing, 3rd paragraph. Describes the general’s element as “…a temporarily halted command position with staff and guards (CP).”
Page 9, Moving Into Contact With Enemy, 4th paragraph. “CP, Lit, CWg, Art or WWg cannot move into any contact with enemy, …”
Page 11, Combat Outcome. Combat outcome further restrict its movement as it cannot pursue, however may recoil, and is destroyed by foot on even scores if in contact with two enemy front edges.
Correct me if I am wrong, but CP do move as “Solid” Blade, but cannot move into contact with enemy.

They must be able to move otherwise there would not need to be a rule that says they cannot move into contact. . The one strange thing about command post, command wagons, and litters is that they can move into bad going whereas artillery and war wagons cannot.

With the frequency that commanders were eliminated in this recent series of test games I thought of having them return to field incapacitated as CP.
This will be a good opportunity to use all those extra command figures.
