Nice reports Robert. Rome on top. The gods are in their heaven and all is right with the world.

Nice reports Robert. Rome on top. The gods are in their heaven and all is right with the world. Cheers, Greg,
The battles are turning into Roman drills. Allied infantry and velites on the flanks and heavies with the triarii interspersed between blade seems to work best.
Tomorrow, I will post the test games against the Lusitanian; different mix of troops and terrain.

A very tight game Robert. Excellent use of the terrain by the Lusitanians. Cheers, In the next two games, the attacker (Rome) was able to place a number of terrain pieces which helped later.

I have played against the Celtiberians a couple of times. Their ability to move so many of their troops quickly through areas of bad going caught me by surprise, especially the first time. I think I was using Polybian Romans in both battles. Of course good PIPs are required to carry out such attacks.

I think I was using Polybian Romans in both battles. Of course good PIPs are required to carry out such attacks. In these tests, the Celtiberian had two blade more than Rome which meant Roman spear needed the side support to start even with the scutarii. This did not happen often as the battle lines quickly lost their alignment.
The Celtiberian psiloi fought as fierce as the scutarii and accounted for a good number of Roman dead.
