...is a good idea, but the home terrain is allways Spain, is it??? Hahahah, can you imagine how different Spain could be? The northern mountains have nothing to do with the central plains and eastern marshlands!

I have posted a test campaign scenario to the blog.
The scenario simulates the begin period of annexation and conquest of Hispania. The post is photo heavy, but that is with good reason as each photo illustrates the phases that both Rome and Spain must negotiate through during a month.
To best view the pictures and follow the text I would suggest opening again your browser to the web link and adjust the text to one half of the screen and picture to the other half.

Tomorrow, I will post the battle report.

A battle against the Iberians. This encounter brought the proconsul’s forces in contact with an Iberian tribe. Full battle report with photos can be found at the blog page. dbagora.blogspot.nl/2016/06/project-rome-battle-against-iberians.html This concludes the activity for the month of March. By the end of the week I should have an overview of events in April and May.

Project Rome – the summer of 197 BC I have posted a quick overview of summer activity in Hispania. The only battle that took place during the period was between Rome of Ulterior Hispania and the tribes of Lusitania.
dbagora.blogspot.nl/2016/06/project-rome-summer-of-197-bc.html That battle will appear tomorrow. Stay tuned.

An Assessment of the Campaign Year.
At the blog you can read an assessment of the campaign game.
This played out for one year which historically was the length of time a proconsul could serve in foreign territories during the Republic.

At the moment I am exploring the addition of further option rules, such as weather, leader characteristics and a few items for the game board.

Between writing sessions.
I have 6 Gallic LCh undercoated and I will begin painting these tomorrow. These represent a restrained expansion for this project as I can now add Gallic tribes of northern Italy as an opponent for the consular army.
Just completed a draft set of siege rules for this campaign as sieges were far more common than open battles. The card system is similar to the campaign set so players can transition easily from one to the other.
However, the game will require some additional accessories or counters to represent supply, water and construction. These will develop alongside the process of testing which begins next week.

I'm enjoying reading your progress. Thank you for updates.
Have you published your thoughts on Stratagems? I've been considering something similar. Stratagems and weather are aspects of DBMM which I rather like. They don't translate simply to DBA but some would, I suspect, work with modification.

I replied to your comment at the blog as to which stratagems I found easy to translate to DBA. I do have a weather rules but these are an option for players to use; they influence campaign movement and reflect an average climate condition for each month. Weather can be variable with the climate condition remaining the same or raising or declining one level for the new month. Therefore, a prolonged period of "Dry" can have a detrimental effect on crops leading to a lean harvest reducing the time Rome can remain in the field, as an example.
