Fantastic! I'll never build another metal spear.

Yeah, thanks for the link!
I just received in the post a huge batch of very old miniatures, and they were also poorly packed, resulting in many broken or near broken spears.

I must be going senile. Totally miss read the title of the thread. I was convinced I was going to find out about making tips for spears! I was wondering what scale his guy games in. However fog has lifted, all is revealed. What a great idea!
Off to get my medication now, "Nurse the screens I need the screens!

Wow! Those look awesome. I wonder if there is a brush small enough to make into 6mm spears!

A toothbrush might not be a bad idea! But probably better to buy a new one of several! The wife probably wouldn't approve if I attacked the ones in the bathroom

Definitely interesting.
One caveat is that, with 15s, the plastic bristle spears I have seen have tended to curl and to lose paint.
Worth experimenting with, however.

Some time ago I was chatting in our social club to a guy about how my pikes on the 28mm ECW models needed replacing. He then brought me in some very light, strong metal rods. They are apparently used in radio controlled model aircraft as connecting rods from the servo to the control surfaces. Easy to cut and trim, also holds the paint well. Great for pikes and I also used them as standard poles for a 15mm War of the Spanish Succession army.
They can be got so my friend says from model shops. Not sure on cost though.

I wonder if there is a brush small enough to make into 6mm spears! Toothbrush ? Perhaps if you cut the head off the toothbrush and stuck it on a 40x20mmm base, it might make a good 6mmm spear block, if viewed in poor light? Scott
